Senior POV
I can feel the air being sucked into the ballasts as we plow full speed to the shore, knowing full well that it was an Atoll, there was probably some cool or dead looking reefs right around... beneath us.
Thankfully amphibious vehicles and reef restoration has been taking large strides in innovation since the Global Warming crisis, probably to connect the Key West to Florida or something.
Taking a closer look at the island, I realize that the trees there aren't the real and old fashioned coconut-containing palm trees, instead they were the artificial non-coconut-containing-extra-low water breed of palm trees.
The beaches were made up of yellow sand and several huts that were each several times larger than the Room I previously lived in.
"Hey Kylie, how large is new home?" I ask, she slowed down earlier so I no longer needed to holler at the top of my lungs fortunately, or my voice probably would've done an embarrassing crack or just die.
"To put it in reference of you room, it's about 4 times larger, with a pool and a sauna as well as-" She starts.
"WHAT!?" I yell, this is top lux right here!
"Yup yup," I can feel her grinning from her position at the helm.
...
About half an hour later, we finally pulled into the harbor, and you could feel Kylie's impatience considering how close she got to the extremely shallow reefs, fortunately she didn't go so close that I was extremely worried that it may be time to swim.
And before you all start mocking me about how I can't swim, I think it's quite obvious, but if you don't know, it's because I'm a low income suburb dweller, when would I encounter large enough bodies of water that I would need to have to swim across?
However, I think it may be time to learn, and it'll really hurt my pride to ask Kylie to teach me, but thats too bad.
While I was in deep thought on how I should word my plea- I mean my request for her to help me in my endeavor on knowledge on basic shit, Kylie found and entered the small cove that had five piers, four of the taken by battleship sized yachts but one was open for the islands two new inhabitants.
It didn't take long to park our boat, and to remind Kylie to pay for 'buying' the boat.
While she grumbles about that and tying the boat to the pier and makes sure that the boat is fine I start dragging the heaps of luggage carrier which I conveniently found at the gate of the piers.
While I was dragging about half of the luggage to the place where Kylie told me where we would stay and somehow printed a map from somewhere which I believe should stay as an extremely exclusive secret.
Anyways, most of the journey was a breeze, almost the whole island is at a slight elevation, so it wasn't too bad of a walk, the only problems were the sun beaming down on me and the heat that it caused, I just wasn't used to it.
I could really enjoy swimming in the water right now, maybe the pool isn't too deep...
Oh wait, I don't have any swim gear, god damn it.
Anyways, the house was as large as I expected it, it had a modern building style that kinda reminded me of the of Fallingwater because of all of it's sharp angles, actually now that I think of it now, I think of it as a clusterfuck of squares slapped together in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
Behind the house I got see the gentle lapping of waves against a beach, and I saw that there was a miniature man made cove sheltering this beach from harsh storms, this means I could also dock here if I really wanted to, if the boat didn't get wrecked against the reefs.
But I wasn't going to be the weirdo who just walks around a house to view it's beach, especially since it's the first time I'm here so it may look like I'm trespassing.
I locate the front entrance, which was a simple polished wooden door, I'm gonna need to add a ton of protective measures, old habits die hard after all.
I then remember that I didn't have the PIN to open the door, sighing I unload the cart and return to the ship to finish up getting all of my crap and ask for the PIN from Kylie.
Then who knows? Maybe I'll tour the house or learn to slowly drown- I mean swim!
