A Knock from the Past - II

After her brief conversation with Daphne, Joyce had decided that she was going to spend the rest of the day studying. After all, it was what a student would do.

The assignment was still pending and even though there was some time left to complete it, a lot of time actually, Joyce wanted to get ahead as much as she could.

The ulterior motive was, it would help her distract from the constant thinking about George's family. It was like she could not push the thought out of her mind and it disturbed her.

Joyce glanced at the wall clock, for the third time in 15 minutes before moving away from the desk. The urge to constantly keep on checking the clock gave away the fact that she was not ready to forget about what had happened.

No matter how many times she would look at the clock, she would be reminded of Mary again which ruined the entire purpose of being in her study.

If this continued, then there was no way Joyce could actually get something done for the day.
