He’s gone - III

Daphne did not bother to look into her direction, when Joyce came to sit down in the chair right in front of her. Adrian's chair was kept vacant.

It was not until after the breakfast had been served that Daphne bothered to look into her direction. Once the help had walked out of the room, their eyes met.

"Good morning."

Joyce was about to twist her face before she stopped herself. "Good morning."

Daphne smiled before she lifted the tea cup to her lips and took a sip of it gingerly.

So, it appeared that her mother-in-law was not in a hurry to tell her anything. That being the case, joyce started to focus on her meal. Since she had woken up around lunch, she has been served a full meal.

She ate the first bite, chewed it thoroughly before going in for the second. She went through a fourth of her food before finally deciding to put her fork and knife down and waited for Daphne.
