"Drop the cigarette." She commanded softly. "Or since the baby is dead you don't need to?"

The new words hit him, exactly what she had hoped because the cigarette was dropped from his hands and his shoe squashed it on the ground.

"Don't say that." He said, his voice soft, but the warning was still there.

"Is it so?" She teased but on the contrary, none of her expressions screamed like she was having fun.

She was not happy and her expressions conveyed that. The medicines were working and she did not feed an ounce of pain which probably helped her more than she knew.

When he did not say anything, Joyce took it as a signal to move forward.

"If you care about me so much then why did you leave? Why did you run away?" She chuckled through the bitter feelings inside her heart, but now came to surface. "If you are so unhappy towards me that you should have not brought me here. Why not leave me to rot—"
