Chapter Nine

I lay on the bed with Amelia just staring at her, maybe this is gonna be our lives now just stuck with this man. I really thought this would be over when she told me she knew, but Anthony always finds a way to to foil all my plans, the door opens causing me to jump and move away from Anthony who walks in with fresh clothes, he looked like he just showered.

"Tammy's left, I had her see sense" he starts closing the door behind him walking towards the bed, he gently picks Amelia up placing her into her coat.

Is he gonna do to me whatever he's done to Tammy? I quickly get up from the bed darting to the other side of the room, I run to the door managing to open it slightly but it's soon slammed closed. Anthony proceeds to trap me against the wall and him, I look up at him terrified while he wore the same smile on his face.

"Where are you going doll? We need to talk about what happened down there with Tammy, I know she put all those weird stories in your head so I don't blame you" he starts I just stood frozen staring at his face as he starts to lean in closer "I know you would never leave me, we care about each other way to much don't we doll?" He asks pausing waiting for my answer, I continue to stare at his face terrified, not knowing how to answer the question, he gives me a look saying to answer again without speaking.

"Before you came back I tried to um, explain to her that I was no missing person and she was wrong, that's why I was crying as I was....frustrated that she wouldn't believe me" I answer him trying to think of an excuse on the spot, he smiles looking down at me while tucking a piece of her behind my ear.

"That's what I thought happened doll I just had to check, I know you'd never believe a single word that came out of that crazy ladies mouth" he smiles leaning down towards me but freezes when his phone starts to ring, he sighs moving one hand from the wall pulling his phone out.

"It's Anthony" he starts a serious look on his face which soon fades to worry "mother, I didn't know you had this number" he replies fully moving from the wall so I was free, I didn't dare move though, not wanting to anger him more.

He slowly paces around the room running his hand through his hair, his hands visibly shaking as he continued to pace.

"I know I should have called mother but it's been a crazy few years for me" he finally speaks sitting down on the edge of the bed his head resting on his hand "no, I didn't want to keep them away from you, I couldn't come back for a while mother" he continues nervously, why would he be nervous talking to his own mother?

Once he hangs up, the phone comes in contact with the wall smashing, I still had my back up against the other wall just staring at Anthony who held his head in his hands. Would it be wise to ask him what's up? I don't want him to take his anger out on me due to the phone call, but if I don't ask he might get offended that I hadn't asked and get angry anyway. I run all these different scenarios in my head for a few seconds, deciding it's probably best to ask I take very small steps away from the wall inching my way closer to him.

"Is everything okay?" I quietly ask fear creeping it's way through my body, I was nervous he didn't hear me but he runs his hand over his face with a sigh.

"Yeah I just had a phone call with someone I didn't think I would for awhile" he sighs keeping it vague, oh come on dude you could give me a little more information than that.

I continue to walk slowly forward until I reach the side of the bed where he sat in the same place, I'm acting as though I'm getting close to a dangerous bear! I mean he's just a man who has recently proven he has severe anger issues.

"Do you wanna talk about it?" I question moving a tiny bit closer to him, he looks up at me which immediately causes me to freeze and regret ever asking that question.

He holds my gaze for a second but nods moving aside leaving me a space on the bed to sit beside him, okay maybe he isn't gonna kill me just yet. I slowly move to sit beside him placing my hands in my lap as he continues to look towards the floor, so who's gonna start this conversation off? I can't be the one that asks all the questions, I might ask the wrong ones.

"That was my mother on the phone" he starts his gaze now moved to his interlocked hands, really that's where we're starting this? He said mother multiple times if he wasn't talking to her I'd be kind of alarmed "let's just say we don't have a very good relationship, somehow she found out I'm back and brought company" he explains sending me a quick look after than over to Amelia.

"My parents always pressured my sister and me when we were growing up to be very successful, my mother was a lawyer and my father was banker so that's what they wanted from us" he explains still looking towards the floor, I mean they are very respectful jobs they probably would want the best for their children "my sister had all the brains and was able to follow in my mothers footsteps and became a lawyer, but me, I was always seen as the trouble maker that never listened in school and just broke the rules" he continues looking over at me for a second, I send him a little smile for him to continue which he does.

"My mother would totally blank me growing up, she'd direct all her attention to her perfect daughter and just forget about her disappointment of a son. That's the reason I would act up, so she'd show me a little attention even if it was her shouting" he continues I could tell he was getting upset, should I comfort him? I mean that would feel so awkward but wouldn't it be wrong if I didn't?

I reluctantly place my hand on his shoulder causing him to look up at me, he smiles taking my hand holding it in his lap, okay well that took a turn.

"Well my father managed to get me an interview at his work which my mother was over the moon at, when I went it turned out they did some research on me and came across my record, which my parents didn't know about might I add" he remarks with a pointed look at me before continuing with his story "I didn't get the job and my mother just went off saying I was such a disappointment and how I'd never get anywhere in life, it's than I decided to just go the other way and turned to a life of crime, which angered her more where she finally kicked me out at 19" he exclaims shaking his head, that was awful his mother just treated him like he didn't exist growing up then expected him to follow in her footsteps.

"We've barely spoke since and now somehow she's found out where I live and about you two, she's coming round tomorrow with my sister and her kids, who I've never met" he explains with a sigh looking up at the ceiling, I know he's my kidnapper but I can't help but feel bad for this dude.

Maybe if his parents treated him equal to his sister he would have been successful and might have not turned to a life of crime, which probably wouldn't have led him to kidnap Amelia and me.

"Then why don't we show her what amazing things you've done without her" I smile wanting to help him, he looks at me with a weird expression "we went food shopping, why don't we make a huge lunch for everyone, we can all dress up in posh outfits and show her that you don't need her" I suggest again with a smile, I know he's done some bad things but it's still horrible to hear how his mother would treat him growing up.

He looks at me for a second deep in thought but soon a smile fills his face, he wraps me in a tight hug thanking me over and over again. I know I haven't been here long but this is the first time he's ever acted like this, the thing about his mother has probably been eating away at him his whole adult life.

"I'll quickly head out to the shops to buy you and Amelia some fancy outfits, if it's not too much trouble could you look through some of the cooking books downstairs to see what things we could make?" He asks all excited like a little kid that's just won something, I smile sending him a nod which causes him to smile even wider if that was even possible "okay I won't be long" he smiles basically running out the bedroom bounding down the stairs for the shops.

I sat on the bed just smiling turning to look at Amelia, she was looking at me chewing her toy.

"Alright don't look at me like that, I felt bad for the guy" I smile towards her she turns continuing to play with her toy, I stand walking towards the bedroom door as I hear the front door close and lock.

Hey guys enjoying your stay so far? you're about to meet crazy Anthony's crazy mother, I don't actually know who was crazier by the end. I couldn't help but feel bad for the guy at that moment, I know I'm stupid shoot me! Now you probably already know where this is about to go, let's go check on Blake shall we?

Blake was running around his house picking things up he'd need, through this whole ordeal he's barely been home and hadn't even turned up to work. He spent most of his time either at the police station or driving around the neighbourhood looking for his own clues, he runs into his bedroom picking his watch up where something in the corner of the room catches his eye. He turns his head where one of Freya's T-shirt's lay on the floor, he goes over picking it up with a smile. He really missed her more than anything and just wanted her back with him, he holds the shirt to his nose her smell still fresh on the fabric. His doorbell ringing snaps him out of his trace, he placed her T-shirt onto the bed running out the room over to the door.

Once he opens it he comes face to face with his parents, he couldn't believe they were standing in front of him. Yes he called them but they gave him no indication they were actually going to come.

"Blake, we've been looking everywhere for you, we arrived yesterday but didn't get an answer" his mother explains giving him a look, they wouldn't have got an answer today but Jacob told him he should have a rest.

"I can't stay and chat I've got to head to the police station, you guys get comfortable" he replies trying to walk passed his parents but his dad takes his arm.

"Why don't we come with you? You need all the support you can get" he suggests but Blake continues to shake his head, he wanted to focus on finding Freya not to keep conversation with his parents.

"We can talk later but I really have to go" is all he says finally walking away from his parents and down to the elevator.

Once in he sends a wave to his parents still stood outside the front door gobsmacked, once the doors close he brings his hand up to his mouth shocked. He never thought in a million years his parents would actually turn up, but here they are standing outside his house.

His relationship with his parents when they first arrived was a bit rocky, he wanted to focus on finding yours truly, but they kept getting in his way. In reality they were worried about him but he couldn't see that, don't you worry though by the end they get closer than they've ever been. But I'm skipping ahead so let's carry on with the story, the story that was about to take another turn.
