Act 22. Ramona and Demona, Part III

The next day, and the next, and so on, Demona again and again, took Ramona back to the beverage stall, over and over, even almost every day Demona took her there.

Ramona gradually started to look annoyed, she even asked Demona many times, "Why don't you go there alone every day, I'm getting bored!"

However, Demona argued, "If I go there alone, Karol will think that I'm weird!"

She had been like this for almost three weeks, not a day had gone without Demona taking Ramona to meet Karol. Ramona did not know the reason was, however, she began to suspect that Demona actually liked Karol.

Meanwhile, Karol himself had known Demona better and better, and even Demona often helped Karol run his beverage stall. Ramona, who came with Demona, could not help but also joined to help Karol, even if it was just bringing boxes of small cans.

There was a day when Karol's small beverage stall was a bit crowded with buyers. One day, Ramona was about to bring in several cans, carrying them in both hands at once, however, Karol himself wanted to grab a can of drinks in a hurry because the beverage stall was full of customers, then, by accident, Karol bumped into Ramona so that the she dropped all the drink cans that were in her hands. Ramona then knelt down and started picking up the fallen cans.

"Ramona! I'm sorry! I was in such a hurry that I didn't notice you!" Karol said, then immediately knelt down, helping Ramona to pick up the fallen cans.

Suddenly, their hands met on one of the cans, and touched each other. The two of them were silent for a while, and Karol started to stare at Ramona with a blushing face, however, Ramona quickly removed her hand from the can, without looking at Karol at all.

After she had finished picking up all the cans that fell and scattered earlier, Ramona then said to Karol, "It's okay. Besides, I see you are very busy, now hurry up, the buyers are waiting for you," then Ramona walked to a table in the middle of the stall, where canned drinks were displayed.

Karol could only see Ramona tidying up the cans on the table, his heart pounding and his face was red. After that day, Karol seemed to look at Ramona in a different way, but Demona did not seem to be fully aware that Karol was paying more attention to Ramona.

Demona still often invited Ramona, almost every day, to visit Karol's beverage stall, and this time, Demona told Ramona that she actually wanted them to work at Karol's beverage stall, and Ramona just nods, it seemed she has started really bored with Demona's request on this one.

However, Ramona did notice that something was wrong with Karol, that Karol suddenly stared at her more, and Ramona did not like it. She knew Demona liked Karol, however, Karol did not seem to like Demona back, even though Demona had tried so hard to catch his attention, and Ramona did not want to hurt Demona's heart.

One fine day, Demona asked Ramona to come very early in the morning, unlike another day, they usually came late in the afternoon to Karol's beverage stall. This time, Demona asked Ramona to hide behind a closed stall that was located right next to Karol's beverage stall. Ramona just nodded and obeyed Demona's wish, while Demona herself was standing right in front of Karol's beverage stall.

Coincidentally, Karol was just about to open his beverage stall, and when he opened the door, he saw Demona had already stood in front of his beverage stall, just alone, without Ramona.

Karol looked left and right, then looked at Demona and asked, "Early morning, Demona. But why are you alone? Aren't you usually with Ramona?"

Demona smiled at Karol's question, then, Karol asked again, "Demona, do you still want to work here? Do you want to work in the morning?"

Demona then approached Karol, and her face started to blush.

Demona then whispered softly, "Karol, I, actually, I actually have liked you from the start... but I still don't understand this feeling..."

Hearing Demona's declaration of love, Karol then walked back slightly away from her, and Demona herself was surprised by Karol's act just now.

Karol then replied to Demona, "I'm sorry, Demona. I can't reciprocate your feelings. There is already another girl inside my heart, I'm sorry."

Hearing Karol's confession, Demona could not help and she kept silent. Her chest started to feel hot, and it felt like her heart was breaking. Karol then entered his stall, took a few cans of beverages, then began to display the cans in front of his stall, he seemed as if he was ignoring Demona.

Demona felt like crying, she clenched her fists, however, she dared to say to him, "Karol, I'm sorry, I can't work today. Ramona is waiting for me." Then, Demona walked in another direction, whether she knew it or not where she was going to.

Karol could only stare at Demona's back with a straight face. Ramona had been listening to everything from earlier. She then came out of her hiding place, then walked over to Karol who was sweeping in front of his stall.

Ramona immediately stopped right in front of Karol, and started exclaiming, "Karol! Demona really cares about you! She always asks me to come here just to see you even though she always makes excuses for me, but as far as I know, you have broken her heart! At least you can lie to her that you love her!"

Karol could not help but stare at Ramona, but she stared back at Karol with an annoyed face. Demona who had walked a few steps, then stopped, and looked back to see what had happened to Ramona and Karol. Demona looked at the two from a distance.

Karol, who was silent for a while, then walked up to Ramona, and said, "I really don't have any feelings for Demona, why would I lie? Actually, I like you, Ramona!"

Demona immediately opened her eyes wide after hearing Karol's confession, even Ramona herself, had a look of shock on her face. Karol then grabbed Ramona's chin with his right hand, and kissed her lips.

This time Ramona was really surprised, even Demona who saw the two of them kissing, suddenly clenched her fists tightly. Her chest was very hot. Tears started to fall from her eyes. Not long after, Ramona quickly pushed Karol with all her might with both hands until Karol almost fell down to the ground.

Ramona then exclaimed again, "Karol! I never ever, ever once, liked you! I accompanied Demona from the start just because she really likes you, and I don't want to hurt her!" Then Ramona turned to Demona who was on the other side of the road.

Demona looked at Ramona with a look full of annoyance and hatred, she was also crying in silence. Ramona rushed to Demona, and took her arms, and led her to an empty stall which was a bit far from Karol's stall.
