Patching up - III

Somehow, the days had aligned with the intentions she had. So the opportunity of going home for an extended period of time had presented itself. The only problem was, how was she supposed to tell that to her boyfriend who was extremely… close to her in polite words.

"For the upcoming holidays, are you going to go home?" Leah randomly popped up the question with genuine curiosity in her eyes. Hopefully, the curiosity did not come off as desperation.

Aiden stopped typing on his phone instantly and turned to give her his full attention. "No. Just regular office, why?"

"Well," she drew out the word a little bit. "I was thinking of going home over the course of the next few days. Lucy is going to go to her grandparents and the house is going to be empty."

"I was going to be in this house with you." His voice was so dry that Leah did not understand if there was hurt anywhere in it.
