A friend in need- II

"Now," Leah cleared her throat, "does your mood for going to college have to do something with Kyle Mathews?"

"What?" Lucy stuttered.

"What?" Leah smiled.

"What did you just say?"

Leah tried her best to control her smile a little bit. "I asked if your behaviour had something to do with Kyle Mathews."

"Why would it? Why would my behaviour—why would my anything depend on Kyle Mathews?" Lucy glared at her but even then clearly stumbled for words.

"I don't know." Leah shrugged innocently. I have no clue which is why I asked."

"You asked?"

"Yes, I did."

"Oh," Lucy mumbled. She started looking down at her shoes and walking forward. Leah caught upto her and joined their hands, and she swung them back and forth.

There was definitely something between Kyle and her, some kind of tension that she had experienced herself. However, no one was acting on it and it was the only difference here.
