Taking a step forward in an attempt to catch up with her, Leah was about to call her name when she stopped and placed her foot back on the pavement.
She messed up. She messed up very, very badly and there was nothing she could think of doing at the moment other than,
Turning around, Leah ran full speed ahead. She stopped shortly at the apartment gate and then charged into the lift. Putting her password in the keypad, she went in.
Emily was the beginning of the hallway where the doors of the rooms were and she appeared to have stopped as the door opened.
"Hey, baby." Emily turned around fully and started coming closer. "Is everything alright?"
Leah crossed the distance between them and threw her hands around her mother's shoulders. She squeezed her mother as humanly close as possible.
"Baby? Is everything alright?" Emily asked as she hugged her back, not as tightly as Leah held her.
"Bad day, mama," Leah mumbled into her neck, "Hug."
