A new doubt - IV

"About that," Her friend whispered, " we just started college and completed our first year. Why are you twenty-one and not 19?"

Another question, Leah closed her eyes at the deep disappointment she felt before her eyes opened. She actually knew the answer to that.

"I am two years late because of something that happened. I was in an accident. A head injury happened."

"Head injury?"

"Yes, I even have pictures of it. I slipped and cracked the back of my skull on the bathroom tile. You cannot imagine how overwhelmed I was with the constant attention. I was not allowed to lock the door and my mother or a maid was always present in the room."

"Gosh," Lucy winced, "that much?"

"Uh huh, papa was going to go further and make sure that my entire bathroom bus carpeted. He was talked out of it by my brother because they were already doing so much. If he had carpeted it, I was going to die."
