Help from Amy

Ch-37

"You have 2 minutes," Amy said as she gave the phone to Oscar. Even though she decided to give the phone. She was shit scared about helping these two. But she has to for the sake of her life, for the lives of the men in the gang, and for Eric. She would rather trust Oscar than that outsider.

"Why are you helping us?" Oscar asked.

"I want Eric to live. That man will kill him once handed you to him. And also… I hope you won't touch him. I will convince him to leave everything behind and move somewhere else after this," Amy said straight on his face. Oscar raised his brow at her words. Slowly a smirk formed on his face as he understood the scenario.

Eric was being played by that man.

"So, If I escape Eric will live?" Oscar asked.

She nodded. "Can't say. But the chances are high. And I will make sure of it," Amy added.

"Do you trust me that I won't hurt him?" he asked.

"I would rather bet on you than bet on some outsider. I am not stupid like Eric. after his father's demise… he is not in control," Amy said. Oscar Hummed at her words.

"I know he misbehaved with the lady. But once she is out of his sight, he will forget. She will not have grievances," Amy added as she looked at Luciana. Convincing Oscar was a tough deal. And she noticed his weakness was Luciana. She will make use of it.

Luciana looked at Amy who was trying to get them out. She knew Amy was a good person from her first impression but there was something about her that makes one curious about her. She didn't bother much about it.

"Then why not tell him about this?" Oscar asked with an inquisitive gaze.

"I told him. He didn't listen. And then I let it be. If you both escape, he will have nothing to hold on to kill Eric," Amy said with drooped shoulders.

Oscar looked at her few seconds as if he was assessing her. Then he typed his mother's number in the broken old phone with great difficulty. He was so annoyed at times he want to smash it. But this was his only chance. Beggars can't be choosers after all. The call was connected in a single ring.

"Hello, Oscar?" Ella asked cautiously. Oscar has a surprised expression for a very split second. But the one with whom he was dealing was his mother. She was a lot smarter than him.

"Mom," he replied blankly. Ella heaved a relieved sigh from the other side. She already signaled her men to start tracing her call. They motioned her that it would take a minute. She nodded and urged them to be faster. Ten people were working on tracing his call ferociously.

"Trace me fast," he added. He knew she might have already started yet he reminded her.

"Yes!" Ella said and already started the tracing process the moment she got the call.

"I need one minute," Ella said from the other side.

"Make it fast, Mom. I don't have that much time or chance. Luciana is with me," he said as much info as he can give to her.

"We are trying. Give us thirty seconds more," she said.

"Brief the things to me," she said.

"Eric kidnapped me on someone else's orders. Find him too," Oscar replied.

"Hah," he heard her scoff.

"Fast, they are coming," Amy urged when she heard a series of footsteps.

"Ten more seconds," Ella said.

"Give me the phone," Amy urged him feeling scared.

"Ten seconds," Oscar said to her asking her to stall for ten seconds.

Amy could feel that they were at the door. They could see the knob twisting from their place. Luciana started panicking too… but she tried not to show it much. Due to the tension, she felt bile rising up to her throat. She just swallowed it back.

"I will not cut the call," Amy said as she literally begged them to give her phone back.

"Cut it when you are done tracing, Mom," Oscar said to his mom and gave the phone back to Amy. She quickly slid it inside her skirt pockets.

Eric and his men entered the room as they observed them.

"Do you want some food?" Amy asked them.

"What if it's poisoned?" Luciana asked.

"Suit yourself then," Amy said and turned around.

"You are done with the call?" she asked Eric.

He nodded his head at her.
