Life goes on...

Ch-55

It's been three months since Ella visited Luciana's apartment.

Oscar was waiting outside of her apartment building, he knelt for the first three days, but Luciana asked him to get out of her apartment and her sight. Knowing she would be angry with him, he didn't dare to make her further angry, he didn't stay in front of her apartment.

Paparazzi, newsletter people, and media came all their way to Luciana's apartment hearing Oscar was kneeling for her.

Callum took care of everyone and warned them on behalf of Benedetta. No one knew about the thing about Oscar's apology to Luciana.

Luciana felt very uncomfortable with Oscar's presence around her. But she got used to it now. She no longer feels scared of him. She took therapy for one and a half months, and with the help of Evelynn and Joe, she was doing fine.

She started working in a bookstore cum coffee shop as an cashier. Her life seemed to be pretty normal and common. She could feel something was going to happen now. After all, life was never normal or common. Luciana's life was never hard. She lived her life the way she wanted.

She was happy with how things went on. Every day, her life went normal. Nothing was interesting that happened in her life. She went for shopping to be the prettiest girl in her school, high school, and college. She has been a brother's baby sister, daddy's girl, and momma's daughter. She never has been herself.

Things started changing in the past year. Her father suddenly asked her not to get the master's degree in music that she wanted to pursue. He wanted her to join the master's course in business and then join the company. If I can't say yes to this, then I have to marry a guy he chose and be a housemaker.

Seriously… she was not into it. After she tried to oppose him, he said only one thing, "Luciana, you always hid behind our backs. I have to have confidence that I can live in this world. Either live on your own by joining our company. If you can't do that, then marry a guy who can protect you, and whom you can hide behind him," her father said.

She did a long self-check, and with determination, she decided to pursue the career of her choice.

"What will you do with music? To build a career as a pianist, you have to have capital. You don't have a single penny. All these years you lived with the money I earned, now you are living off with the money that you and your brother are earning. Do you want us to support your career too from now on?

"Being a pianist might give immense fame but not career or money. Have you seen all the famous pianists out there in the world? Most of them came from rich families, others became famous for their hard work. Where is your hard work here?" Luciana's father questioned.

Luciana felt it was inevitable to convince her father. She tried to ask for help from her brother, but strangely he supported their father.

Luciana tried to ask for help from her friends, but nobody helped. She still fought for the thing she loved to do it.

In the end, she was thrown out. She tried to get into a college. But she couldn't. She went ahead and tried to confront her father.

She asked why was he doing this. He replied, "Because only by doing this you will know, you can't live without support,"

She knew that was not the truth. There was something else. Her father was not someone like this. He thinks a woman shouldn't be strong and doesn't need a career. Now, him doing this was smelling something fishy.

Later she got to know that he was doing this to get her married to someone who deals with the mafia for the sake of his business. She again confronted but only to be called stupid by her father. Then he offered her another chance, that she can do everything she wished as long as she marries the guy he has shown to her.

She disagreed. Luciana knew she cannot live in that country anymore. She picked this country to live in because this was the country where her father didn't have his influence.

Her brother helped her out with her identity by letting her be the daughter of one of his retired employee's sons.

But who knew, she would be almost sacked by them?

They took advantage of her and her money. Living with them was equal to turning into a donkey who works hard yet gets no fruition of her work. Luciana didn't come here to feed them or to get taken advantage of by them.

She was here to pursue her dreams. So, after thinking about everything thoroughly she left them. She didn't care what consequences they will have to face. Luciana chose herself.

Sometimes, choosing yourself doesn't make you selfish but wise. She doesn't know if she made a wise choice or a stupid choice. She made and was bearing it. That was all that matters to her.

If she was with them, it only means, she was still depending on her brother. She doesn't want to depend on her brother.

Fast forward to six months, she was standing here independently. She knew she was not rich or had an extravagant life. But the taste of independence was something addictive. She wanted this independence for the rest of her life.

As usual, she ignored Oscar and walked to the bus stop and entered the cafe only to find the biggest shock of her life.
