Elena bit her lip, debating how much to reveal. "Just… different," she said finally, a hint of vulnerability in her voice.

"Different how?" Magnar pressed, his curiosity getting the better of him. But his persistence only added to Elena's frustration. Why was he pushing her so hard? Couldn't he see that she was already struggling with her emotions? She could feel her heartbeat in her throat. 

Her heart pounded in her chest, his closeness reminding her of something she'd been trying to ignore—that she was a woman, and she wanted him. She wanted him in ways that scared her, ways she wasn't sure she was ready to admit. How could she possibly say that out loud?

"Did I say something wrong when we were texting?" he asked, his voice laced with fear. The vulnerability in his tone was almost too much for her to bear.
