Scoundrel

"Oh dear heavens, please help me" said Wura to herself.

"I cannot marry that rude prince, in fact I have no intentions of marrying anyone at all" she said as she paced back and forth in her room.

"And not less to even consider him , he is disgusting and he treats women anyhow" she said to herself.

"Wura may I come in?" asked Tessa as she was back to normal and she knocked on Wura's open door before she came in.

"Yes Aunt, you may" said Wura as she snapped out of her thoughts and she looked at her door, she had forgotten to close it.

"What are you thinking about so deeply, to the point of forgetting your surroundings?" asked Tessa as she sat down on Wura's bed.

She knew her niece well, and she knew when Wura was angry, sad, irritated or disgusted.

"Nothing Aunt" said Wura

"Is it really nothing Wura??" asked Tessa as she patted on the side of Wura's bed, gesturing Wura to sit with her.

"No Aunt it is not nothing" said Wura as she sighed and she sat down.

"Then tell me what the matter is my dear" said Tessa softly.

"Aunt, it is this whole matter" said Wura.

"I do not want to get married, and especially not to that scoundrel, disgusting, womanizing Prince" said Wura as she said what she really thought about Liam.

"My dear, he must be really horrible for you to say such about him" said Tessa as she knew her niece was not one to judge others quickly.

"Believe me Aunt he is" said Wura.

"I find it hard to believe, I have heard that the Prince is a gentle man, both in looks and in action" said Tessa

"Then it must all be a lie" said Wura.

"Imagine him telling me to get on his bed like some sort of harlot" said Wura with anger.

"Oh my then he really is a scoundrel" said Tessa as she could not believe such behaviour from him.

"Yes Aunt, and I do not want to get married to a man like him" said Wura.

"I need to find a way to break off the engagement" said Wura.

"That is the only way my heart would be calm and free from this turmoil" said Wura

"I just hope that Mother and Father have received my letter" said Wura.

"Do not worry dear, let your mind be at ease" said Tessa

"Knowing my brother you father, he would be straight on his way back here right now" said Tessa

"He has always been very protective of you, ever since you were a baby, he never allowed anything to hurt you, you are his Princess" said Tessa as she smiled.

"And he will never stop protecting you" she said as she played with Wura's hair.

"Thank you Aunt" said Wura as she smiled, she needed to hear that, she needed to be assured that she would be okay.

"You are welcome dear" said Tessa as she smiled.

"Ahhh" cried out Tessa as she touched her stomach.

"Aunt what is it??" asked Wura as she was concerned.

"It is nothing Wura" said Tessa

"I think I just felt the baby kick" she said as she touched her stomach.

"It is kicking" said Tessa as she laughed.

"Awww it is??" asked Wura.

"May I?" asked Wura

"Of course go on dear" said Tessa with a smile, as Wura put her hand on Tessa's stomach, and she did truly feel a kick.

"He/ she will be a very energetic child" said Wura as she smiled, she loved seeing life grow, it was interesting and reassuring that life was innocent and feeble, and seeing the joy on her Aunt's face made her feel happy.

"Just like her mother" said Wura as she looked at Tessa.

"Aww Wura" said Tessa.

"I must go and find Richie, he needs to feel this too" said Tessa as she sprung up to her feet.

"Aunt I do not think that you should move around too much" said Wura as she was worried.

"Oh hush Wura, I am only pregnant and not bedridden" said Tessa as she shrugged Wura off and she went to go and find her husband.

Wura laughed at her Aunt's reply, there was only one person who could be witty and still get away with it, and that was her Aunt Tessa.

"Richie, Richie" called Tessa as this time she walked down the stairs like a normal pregnant woman.

"Richie" called Tessa as Richard turned to look at her as he was sitting in the red armchair.

"What is the matter Tessa??" asked Richard.

"Richie, feel this" said Tessa as she could not contain her excitement and she placed Richards hand on her tummy.

"You feel it??" asked Tessa cheerfully.

"Our child is moving" she said with a smile.

Even Richard whose face was always serious, had a small smile on his face, and it made Tessa smile.

"Hello my child" he said under his breath.

"I feel so tired" said Tessa as it seemed that all her energy was finally depleted, she yawned, it seemed that all the running she had done earlier had finally tired her out.

"Come on, you need a nap" said Richard as he stood up and he carried Tessa as he walked up the stairs.

"Thank you Richie" said Tessa as she smiled and she closed her eyes.

Richard thought that she looked very cute and docile while she slept, which was far from her actually personality.

"Is Aunt tired?" asked Wura as she walked behind Richard.

"Shush, she is sleeping" said Richard as he turned back and shushed Wura.

"Oh sorry" said Wura as she whispered.

Richard entered he and Tessa's room, he placed her on their bed and he covered her with a blanket.

"Goodnight Wildvine" he said as he gave her a kiss on her forehead and he closed the door behind him.

"How long do you think that she will sleep for?" asked Wura as she was waiting for Richard outside their room.

"I give her forty five minutes, before she is back to her usual energetic self" replied Richard.

"Do you want to wager on that Uncle?" asked Wura.

"Because I give her thirty minutes" said Wura as she laughed.

"Fine let us wager" said Richard.

"If she waked up at the time you predicted, I will rescue you from all her antics no questions asked" said Richard.

"And if not, you must spend three days alone with her" said Richard.

"What No uncle, that wager is too unfair" said Wura.

"Are you scared my niece??" asked Richard.

"Of course not" said Wura, she loved her Aunt, but she could be more than a handful sometimes, Wura always wondered how Richard handled being with her all day.

So she guessed that it was true what they said, Love always conquered all.

"Fine I agree" said Wura as she sighed.

"Well then niece of mine, get ready for your three days" said Richard with a smile.

"Oh we will see about that Uncle" said Wura, she was sure that she would win this little wager of theirs.
