Treaty

"My father seems to like you" said Liam as he looked at Wura, he was sitting right across her in the carriage as the same way they had came, they were returning to Wura's home.

"Your father is a very nice man" said Wura, he was very jovial, it was no wonder to Wura how he had been King for so long, and why he was a King to the people, he had never made her feel scared at all, in fact he made sure that she felt comfortable.

"I know he is" said Liam as he smiled, it was good for him that his Father liked Wura, because that would make things much more easier for him to marry her, which reminded him that the Wedding preparations needed to be sped up, the wedding was in less than nine days.

Liam knew that if he even dallied a little, Wura would find a way to break the engagement and stop him from marrying her.

The thought that he was thinking of how to keep a woman, so that she would stay with him made Liam laugh, never in his life had he thought that he would ever have to do such, and yet here he was.

It seemed like Wura was tired out, because she said nothing at all, she just closed her eyes and she rested her head on the carriage window, Liam knew that she was not sleeping because she would occasionally open her eyes and look at him, as if waiting for him to do something, to which he just kept on looking at her, and then she would glare at him, and she would go back to closing her eyes.

This would occasionally happen, and it happened three times, which made Liam wonder, if she was thinking something suspicious in that pretty head of hers, and he knew that she probably was.

"My father must be worried about me" she said out loud as she opened her eyes and she looked at Liam.

It was not like she was a baby who had a certain time to return home, but she had never gone out this late before, and not to talk about with a man.

"He should not be, you are in good hands" said Liam as he smiled

"I am not sure about that" said Wura as she eyed Liam up and down.

"What was that little gesture of hers supposed to mean??" asked Liam to himself, it was as if she did not trust him... wait she actually did not, and that was not fair, he was a very trustworthy person, or so he had been told, and yet she never trusted him at all.

"You do not trust me do you??" said Liam as he just had to ask.

"Was it that obvious??" asked Wura sarcastically.

"Mhmmm" said Liam as he sighed, this woman would never quit, or get tired, and he admired that, if only she did not use that great virtue of hers to condemn him.

"We have arrived your highness" said the coachman as the carriage stopped and Wura got out of the carriage as if there was a plague happening.

"Thank you for today your highness... even though I would have preferred to stay home in the first place" said Wura as she curtsied and she said the last part in her head.

"It is my pleasure Lady Diwura" said Liam as he smiled.

"May I not come in???" asked Liam, because for some odd reason he felt like Wura did not want him to enter her house.

"Sorry your highness, but it is already late" said Wura.

"I am sure that my parents are asleep by now" said Wura as she made up an excuse, she had already had enough of seeing this guy's face today, and all she wanted to do was go home and sleep, her day was very full today.

"I see" said Liam.

"Well in that case, please send my greetings to your parents" said Liam.

"I will your highness" said Wura as she curtsied once again and she turned to enter her home, not even waiting for Liam to reply to her.

"Let us go" said Liam to the coachman as he was sure Wura had had enough of him today, she did not even say a goodnight to him.

"Alright your highness" said the coachman as he started the carriage and they drove away.

Liam smiled, he had a very good day today.

...

"You called for me your Majesty" asked Mero as he walked into Alaric's office.

"Yes Mero, please sit" said Alaric.

"Thank you your Majesty" said Mero as he sat down.

"Mero, I take it as you have already met Liam's betrothed?" asked Alaric as he looked at Mero.

"Yes Sire, I have" said Mero as he replied swiftly.

"And what do you think of her?" asked Alaric.

"And please be honest Mero" said Alaric.

"Of course Sire" said Mero.

"Well my King, I believe that she is a trustworthy maiden, although I do not know much of her, but Liam seems to trust her and I trust his judgment" said Mero.

"She is not haughty, or ill-mannered, she has good temperament from our first meeting today, and most of all, I believe that she is a very intelligent woman" said Mero as he gave a detailed report of his thoughts on Wura.

"Hmm, I see" said Alaric as he seemed to be thinking.

"Yes Sire" said Mero.

"Is anything the matter Sire??" asked Mero as he wondered why Alaric was asking him this and not Liam himself.

"No... No, everything is alright Mero" said Alaric as he looked at Mero.

"I just needed your opinion on her" said Alaric.

"I personally believe that she is a lovely maiden" said Alaric.

"But enough of that" said Alaric.

"The main reason I called for you, is because I need you to do something very important for me" said Alaric.

"What is it Sire?" asked Mero.

"Mero, I need you to journey to the east, we are going to attempt to create some sort of treaty with them, regarding the Kingdom's current issue of insufficient iron" said Alaric.

"Liam wanted to go there, but I refused him, he has just returned from the north, and yet he wants to journey once again" said Alaric.

"Mero, you are Liam's right hand man, and I trust you as much as he does" said Alaric.

"Will you be able to go to the east?" asked Alaric.

"I will do as the King pleases" said Mero as he bowed.

"Thank you Mero" said Alaric as he smiled.

"Sire, when shall I journey to the east?" asked Mero.

"Well Liam's wedding is in less than ten days, and of course you must be present" said Alaric.

"So I suggest you journey to the east after the wedding, so that Liam would have no excuse to go anywhere" said Alaric.

"I see Sire" said Mero.

"Yes" said Alaric.

"So I will journey to the east then" said Mero.

"Yes Mero" said Alaric.

"Please do not let me keep you waiting any longer Mero, you may leave now" said Alaric.

"Thank you Sire" said Mero as he stood up swiftly.

"Goodnight Mero" said Alaric as he smiled.

"Goodnight your Majesty" said Mero as he smiled, and he walked out of Alaric's office, leaving him with his thoughts.
