Where we stand

"Sadly, the truth is that I truly do not see your playfulness your highness" said Wura as she laughed.

"Oh is that so now?" asked Liam as he smiled, he was told that many, times, by his father.

"Yes your highness, you look so… so quiet, like you can never hurt anyone" said Wura as she smiled.

"You seem to forget that I was at war all these years, so I have surely hurt some people" said Liam as he smiled.

"That may be true, but you did that for the sake of your Kingdom" said Wura.

"But naturally, I believe that you are a very nice person, who would not dare hurt anyone" said Wura as she smiled and Liam smiled at her, she spoke so good of him, he liked it when she was happy with him, when she spoke to him with so much kindness and happiness, her countenance was always lovely when she smiled.

"So does that mean that you are no longer upset with me?" asked Liam as he smiled.

"What??" asked Wura as she did not understand what Liam was talking about, until she finally realized that she was still supposed to be upset with him, and yet here she was, happily chatting with the enemy, she was just so weak, and she hated herself for that.

"Your highness, this conversation of our does not in anyway affect where we stand" said Wura as she cleared her throat and she quickly composed herself, he must have thought she was a fool with the way she always so easily changed her mind.

"I am still extremely upset with you, and the light laughter I displayed earlier, does not in any way affect how I still feel towards you" said Wura as she glared at him.

"Oh, I see" said Liam as he chuckled, he found her behaviour quite silly, she was like a child, her mood could change along with the wind.

"Yes…" said Wura as she hated the sound of his laughter, it was as if he was mocking her, well she would show him, she could not let herself be caught off guard by him again, she would make sure to stand her ground, because it just felt like he was playing with her.

"As you wish" said Liam as he smiled at her, he could see that she had many thoughts running through her head, he wished that he could know what she was thinking about in that pretty head of hers, he knew that she was an avid thinker, it was just her nature.

"Do you want me to help you down, or will you do it yourself?" asked Liam as he looked at her and he smiled as the Carriage came to a halt, they had arrived back at the Castle already.

"I will do it myself thank you very much your highness" said Wura in sarcasm as she did not even wait for Liam to open the door for her as she stood up and she did it herself as she walked hurriedly into the Castle.

"Is something the matter?" asked Duchess Cornwalk as she walked to where Liam was standing as he just smiled.

"No, everything is fine Duchess Cornwalk, just a banter between couples" said Liam as he smiled.

"Oh… well alright" said Duchess Cornwalk as she smiled, she remembered when she and her husband were newly married, they had many of those banters back then as well.

"Shall we go in for dinner?" asked Liam as he smiled and the sun was setting quickly as the moon and stars were getting ready to replace its place in the night sky.

"Let us" said Duchess Cornwalk as she smiled and she held her husband's arm as they all followed Liam into the Castle.

Wura had went straight to her room, and she rested her back against her bedroom door as she closed it behind her and she sighed., being with Liam was bad for her, the more time she spent with him, the more she forgot why she was upset with him in the first place, he could be so nice when he was in his good mood, but once his mood got sour, he was unrecognizable, like a monster, and she did not want to get hurt again, so she could not fall for his niceness now.

Suddenly a knock on the door jolted Wura out of her thoughts as It startled her and she almost jumped up in a fright.

"Who is it?" asked Wura as she tried to calm down her racing heart.

"It is me my princess" said the maid as she wondered why the Princess's voice sounded so close/

"Alright, what it is?" asked Wura.

"Ahh my princess, his highness, and Duke and Duchess Cornwalk are expecting your presence in the dining room" said the maid as she explained.

"Ahh… I see" said Wura as she sighed, she had forgotten that they still had dinner with Duke and Duchess Cornwalk, if she had her way, she would have stayed locked up in her room all evening, she was not even hungry to begin with.

"Yes my princess" said the maid as she nodded her head, could she be mistaken?? The princess's voice was coming from right behind the door?? But why would be princess be standing right behind the door, it just made no sense to her.

"Alright, I will be there soon" said Wura as she sighed, she could not hide away any longer, she still had an obligation to fulfil as the princess.

"Alright my princess" said the maid as she bowed and she walked away, she still wondered what the princess was doing standing behind her door.

"Alright Wura, you need to go out now, and remember to be strong" said Wura to herself as she sighed and she patted herself on her cheeks as she shook her head, being a princess was hard, it was not only living large and having everything you want, but it was also considering others and the obligations you have to them.

"My prince, if you ask me, I believe that the state needs to be more solidified" said Duke Cornwalk as he and Liam were busy discussing the matter of the Kingdom while Duchess Cornwalk just sat there as she drank her wine and she let the two men discuss the kingdomly matters.

"It may be true that the Kingdom is now more free than it was in the past, and that may be a good thing for the Kingdom" said Duke Cornwalk.

"But at the same time, it makes the kingdom a bit weak, there is now more freedom for everyone" said Duke Cornwalk.

"I do agree with you, but one thing influences the other" said Liam as he drank his wine.

"And quite frankly, I would rather that people be free, that way they would be more happy" said Liam as he smiled.

"That may be true, and I also agree with you my prince, but with matters regarding the East, I believe that a strong hand would do them good" said Duke Cornwalk, he had heard of how they were trying to rebel.

"I must disagree with you there Duke Cornwalk" said Liam.

"That is exactly what they want, they want us to show our hand as oppressors, are rulers and enslavers" said Liam.

"And when we do the exact opposite, they have nothing at all against us, they will be unable to complain, and their people are reaping the good benefit of their agreement and submission of being a new Wyverdale state" said Liam as he smiled.

"The people are innocent, while those older people, who have been there in the young years of their Kingdom want to go back to the way things were, and hence their rebellion" said Liam as he smiled.

"And by the grace of God, they have been unable to succeed in all their attempts" said Liam as he smiled.

"And I believe that you have heard about the new treaty signed by us and the east, ensuring that they supply us Iron for our necessary support" said Liam as he smiled.

"Yes, I was informed about that, and quite frankly, I was surprised, I did not think that they would agree so easily" said Duke Cornwalk as he laughed.

"My thoughts exactly, but well things never turn out as we think" said Liam as he laughed.

"That is the truth" said Duke Cornwalk as he laughed.

"Duchess Cornwalk, you surely must be weary of our discussion" said Liam as he turned to look at Duchess Cornwalk as he smiled.

"Ahh, not at all your highness, I am used to these type of discussion, and it really does intrigue me, our Kingdom is a very mighty one" said Duchess Cornwalk as she smiled, she was used to her husband talking about official matters and she would always listen in silence.

"That is very true" said Liam as he laughed and then he smiled.
