So soon

The next morning.

Wura yawned as she opened her eyes slowly, the sun had risen and she had drawn back the drapes on her windows the night before, which allowed the fresh sunlight to enter into her room.

Wura rubbed her eyes, she was sure that she had overslept, after all, she always woke up before dawn, and now she had woken up late.

Wura sat up on her bed as she stretched and she was about to get out of bed when a knock on her door startled her.

Then the knock came again, as she was surprised, she had thought that she was hearing things, but when she heard the knock again, she was suspicious, as far as she knew only she and Liam were in the Castle, so did that mean that he was the one knocking on her door??

And even if that was so, why would he knock on her door?? Did he need something?? Or was he wondering why she had not yet come out of her room.

Wura quickly shook her head as she tried to sort out all her many thoughts, and in that same moment the knock came again, but this time a little female voice accompanied it.

"My princess, are you awake?" came the voice of a maid from behind the door as she had been standing there and waiting for a reply, but she received none.

"It Is time for your bath" said the maid once again as she still received no reply.

"Ah... come in" said Wura as she quickly got out of bed as she was surprised, if she was not mistaken that was the voice of one of the maids?? Then what was she doing here.

"Good Morrow my princess, I am sorry to disturb you" said the maid as she walked into Wura's room with a smile as she bowed as she saw Wura standing out of her bed.

"Good Morrow, that is alright" said Wura as she smiled and the maid raised her head as she smiled at her.

"Please forgive me for asking this, but why are you here??" asked Wura as she was still surprised.

"Did his highness not send you off for three days?" asked Wura as she looked very confused, because as far as she knew, the space of three days had not passed yet, and still then, the maids had returned to the Castle.

"Yes he did my princess" said the maid as she nodded her head.

"Then why have you returned so soon?" asked Wura.

"My princess, the coachman came looking for us, he said that his highness had called for us to return to the Castle, and that he was sorry for sending us off in such a rude manner, so we arrived back at the Castle this morning" said the maid as she explained, she just like every other maid in the Castle was surprised when the prince suddenly ask that they leave, and well when they did, they were even more surprised when he sent the coachman to call for them to return back to the Castle.

"I see" said Wura as she seemed to be thinking, Liam must have done that after she had left him, because as far as she knew, he did not speak to the Coachman about finding the maids in her presence.

"Yes my princess" said the maid as she smiled and she nodded her head.

"My princess, shall I prepare your bath??" asked the maid as she smiled.

"Ahh… yes, please do so" said Wura as she snapped out of her thoughts and she smiled.

"Alright my princess" said the maid as she bowed and she walked out of Wura's room to get hot water from the kitchen, leaving Wura alone with her many thoughts, she wondered why Liam did not inform her that he had planned to ask all the maids to return back to the Castle.

Not like she wanted him to tell her everything he was planning, but she was surprised by their sudden return, but who was she to question his decisions?

"Good Morrow Wura" said Liam as he smiled and he looked at Wura as she was walking into the dining room.

"Good Morrow your highness" said Wura as she smiled at him and she sat down across him as the maid entered after her as she placed her breakfast in front of her and Wura smiled at the maid in appreciation and the maid smiled as she walked away and she left Wura and Liam alone.

"I see that the maids have returned to the Castle" said Wura as she smiled and she looked at Liam.

"Yes, they are" said Liam as he smiled as he drank his tea.

"I see" said Wura as she ate her breakfast.

"Are you upset that I did not inform you that they would be returning?" asked Liam as he could sense that she was not happy.

"Well not necessarily your highness, I was just surprised that is all" said Wura as she smiled and she lied, of course she was upset he did not inform her, even though he did not have to tell her at all, and yet she did not know why she felt upset.

"Well please forgive me for not informing you of my plans" said Liam as he smiled.

"I realized that we have spent far too long in comfort, and we have some royal duties to attend to" said Liam as he explained.

"And you had been doing a lot, with cooking, which I appreciated, but last night, I called the coachman to inform the maids to return to the Castle" said Liam as he smiled.

"I see" said Wura.

"Yes" said Liam as he smiled.

"Thank you for your explanation your highness… even though it was not necessary at all" said Wura as she smiled, even though she appreciated that he had explained his reasons to her, she really liked it when he carried her along.

"You are welcome" said Liam as he smiled.

"And you are wrong, it was necessary for me to explain" said Liam as he smiled.

"You are my wife after all" he said with a smile as Wura ate her food, hearing him call her his wife made her smile, but of course only because that was the truth.

"If you ask me your highness, I believe the maids think of you as a man who takes decisions on a whim" said Wura as she laughed.

"Oh is that so?" asked Liam as he smiled and Wura shook her head.

"And why do you think so?" asked Liam as he smiled.

"Well even if they do not say it at all, I can tell that they are surprised by the way you quickly changed your mind and asked them to return" said Wura as she laughed.

"Well I cannot blame them, I myself did act on a whim" said Liam as he laughed, he had realized that he could have just asked the maids to excuse them for an evening, and not for three entire days, just what was he thinking??

"You really did" said Wura as she laughed.

"I just wanted you to forgive me so much that I shut out all reason" said Liam as he laughed and Wura smiled at him.

"Well please do not shut out all reason next time your highness" said Wura as she laughed.

"I will make sure not to" said Liam as he laughed and Wura smiled at him, Liam smiled, his father was right, them going way from the Castle and everything else for a bit would really make them feel much more better.

"Your highness, you spoke about royal duties earlier" said Wura.

"What do those royal duties entail?" asked Wura as she was curious, as far as she knew, they had met with Duke and Duchess Cornwalk, they had gone around Cornwalk, Liam had wrote a royal report to his father, so what else needed to be done.

"Well we need to greet the people" said Liam as he smiled.

"Greet the people?" asked Wura in surprise.

"Yes, it is a royal tradition for royal newlyweds, they must greet the people and accept their gifts seeing as the people would be looking forward to meeting us" said Liam as he smiled.

"I see" said Wura as she seemed to understand.

"So are the people aware of our arrival?" asked Wura.

"Well yes, you can never truly hide" said Liam as he laughed, wherever he went someone always knew him, even though he wanted to hide, and he was sure that it was only a matter of time before the people were aware of their presence.

"I see" said Wura, well she was used to hiding, back when she was not the princess, she could easily slip away, but she doubted that she would be able to do so now, things had changed, and her titles had changed as well.
