No joke

Liam sighed in frustration as he looked at the map that was laid out before him, he could not believe this, the East would try to go for war again, it was unreal to think of.

"My King, do you require any assistance?" asked Samson as he walked into the room and Liam looked up at him.

"No I do not, the only assistance I need is for someone to tell me what is going on in the capital" said Liam in frustration, he had only just returned to Wyverdale, and yet now he was faced with another problem.

"My King, I really apologize that I cannot be of any assistance" said Samson as he sighed, he could see how stressed Liam was about this, and honestly, who would not be? War was not something to be taken lightly, it was something that could easily destroy the entire Kingdom.

"That is not true Duke Peters, you were the one who informed me of the war, I have been gone for so long that this came as a real surprise to me" said Liam as Samson walked to stand by his side.

"From the little that I know my King, it is highly probable that the East have decided to set up camp here, in this valley" said Samson as he pointed to a place on the map.

"I know they would, they surely did so last time, and since they are aware of my absence now, they will do it again" said Liam as Samson heard a commotion outside.

"Duke Peters, have you been in contact with Duke Scot?" asked Liam as he looked at Samson.

"Well we sent letters of greetings to each other a few months ago, he told me the great news of Tessa's delivery" said Samson with a smile.

"Oh that I wonderful news, did she deliver a girl or a boy?" asked Liam as it was now that he realized just how long he had truly been gone for.

"A girl my King, a wonderful girl" said Samson as he smiled and he heard more noises coming from outside as he frowned deeply.

"Please excuse me my King, let me go and check what is going on outside" said Samson as Liam nodded and he walked out of the room as Liam focused his attention back to the map.

"The East is here, the Capital of the Kingdom is here, and the South is all the way over here" said Liam as he used his finger to travel across the map, he did not know what to do.

Another war would be no joke, and he was sure that the East had used all this time being silent to gather troops and warriors of all kind.

Last time the war was different, they had captured the East for good reasons, the people and rulers there were horrible and a danger to themselves, they still lived In an age of slavery and Liam went there to liberate them.

Which was why his top priority back then was to rescue and save all those he could who did not want a war, and he had succeeded to some extent.

However, now it was different, the East was back for revenge, if anything, they would want to capture the whole of Wyverdale.

"To think that just because they believe I am not present they decide to play something like this" said Liam.

"Now it all makes sense, the rebellions in the north were just a distraction, a sort of cover up for this, this was always their plan, they wanted revenge" said Liam as he scoffed.

Now the only question on his mind was if Wura was aware of the situation, and that worried him.

She needed to be aware of everything, she was Queen after all, she would have to take his place and strengthen the troops, and create all the battle plans.

He knew that this would just be too much for her, on top of worrying about him and taking care of the Kingdom and now this war would really make her stressed out.

"I cannot even begin to imagine how horrible this is for you" said Liam to himself as he sighed.

"But luckily you have Mero with you" said Liam as he started to feel relieved, Mero was his right hand, he was certain that he would explain everything to Wura and try his best to make sure that she was well informed.

"I trust you Mero, you will come up with a plan, so I do not need to worry" said Liam as he knew that even if he was not present right now, Mero and his men would do the right thing, they would know what he would do in situation like this.

"Knowing Mero, he would want to set up camp in the opposite valley, the troops will be lead, and as reigning Queen my darling will not be able to stay away from the battlefield" said Liam.

"She will be there as ruler, while Mero will be commander" said Liam to himself, to determine his next course of action, he needed to be aware of what they were planning.

"The East is here, and I am all the way over here" said Liam.

"it would take me more than a month to reach the capital if I journey now" said Liam.

"It is likely that by the time I get there, the war would have already started, and then I would have to end up going to the East" said Liam as he sighed.

He was faced with a difficult decision right now, return to the Capital or head straight to the battlefield.

Liam was silent as he thought for a minute, he knew what he had to do, even though he did not want to do it, but as king he had to always put the safety of his Kingdom first, and if the Kingdom was safe, Wura and everyone else safe.

Liam hated that he was so far away, why did he have to end up in the South of all places, it was further than everywhere else.

"I have to go to the East first, everything needs to be settled" said Liam to himself.

"I am sorry my love, we have to wait a little longer before we get back together again" said Liam with a sad smile on his face.

There was nothing more he wanted than to get on his horse and dash straight to the Castle and carry Wura in his arms, after such a long time, but with the situation on ground right now, it would be more than selfish for him to do that while the Kingdom was at risk.

"Have no doubt in your mind that I love you, and I really miss you, but the safety of the Kingdom must come first, and I know that you are aware of that" said Liam as he sighed and he closed his eyes, all this was just too much for him.

"No stupid curse will ever succeed in keeping us apart, I promise you, just give me time" said Liam as he opened his eyes, he just needed time, he needed her to wait for him for a little while longer.

Wura sighed as she looked up from the book she was reading and she looked out the window.

To say that she was just tired of it all would be an understatement, first she did not know where Liam was, she went to the Yonder Realm to find him, he did not remember her, she had to leave him there, and now there was this matter of war that just made her feel so scared and alone.

"I just do not know what to do Liam, what would you do in this situation? Everything is just so hard here without you" said Wura as she sighed, her eyes were fixed on the sun that was slowly setting.

There was not a day that went by that she did not dare think of Liam, he occupied her thoughts all day and night.

"I really need something to calm myself right now" said Wura as she sighed.

"But do not worry, I am not going to drink, I already learnt my lesson from last time" said Wura to herself as she laughed.

"Liam I hope that you are alright, if only there was a way for us to communicate, I could really use your presence right now" said Wura as she ran her fingers through her hair.

Wura closed the book that she was reading, it gave her no new information, she knew that the obvious and most sensible thing to do.

And she trusted Mero, so she would listen to him and allow them set up camp in the valley across the East's camp.

"Well I guess that we are going to war then…" said Wura.

"You do not have to worry Liam, I will make sure that they will not succeed in what they want" said Wura with a sigh.
