Go away

Wura did not know why, but in that moment as she looked into his eyes, she just felt extremely calm, so safe, she felt as if all her troubles were no more.

The reassuring look on his face that everything was going to be alright made her actually believe that he was right... that everything would turn out well in the end.

Wura and Mero just looked at each other in silence. Wura was trying to calm herself down completely while Mero was worried, wondering what was going on in her mind. Wondering what she was thinking about.

Oh what would he give to just be able to hear her thoughts just once in this moment, so maybe he would know the right words to say to comfort her properly, to assure her that she was safe, so as long as he was around, and he would always be around.

"Do you feel better now?" asked Mero as Wura looked at him, sniffed and nodded, she felt so ashamed of herself, breaking down in front of Mero like this.

Although if she was being honest, there was no one she would rather break down in front of than Mero. She always felt safe when he was around and that was a fact. So as much as she felt ashamed and embarrassed right now, she knew that this would not make Mero think any less of her.

"Yes Mero, I am alright, I am fine now." said Wura as she nodded once more and she blinked, trying to dry away the unshed tears that were threatening to fall in her moment of weakness.

"Are you sure?" asked Mero once more, she could see the extreme worry in his eyes and that warmed her heart, he did truly care for her and he meant every word of assurance that he had told her.

"Yes Mero, I am absolutely sure, I feel better now, I assure you." she said as she smiled and Mero was still worried, but he decided to believe her.

"Alright then, if you say so Wura." he said as his eyes were searching hers for any sign of discomfort or sadness. To be honest, he had never seen her in such panic and despair other than when they feared the worst when Liam disappeared when the barrier of the Yonder realm broke.

"And I do say so." she said as she smiled at him, trying her best to reassure him that she was indeed feeling ten times better now.

Mero did not realize that he had still been holding on tightly to Wura, it was not until Wura pointed it out. She did not directly say it with her mouth, she looked down at his large arms that were warmly embracing her and then she looked up at his face to see realization was all over him.

"Oh I apologize..." he said as Wura could see the reluctance to let go of her in his eyes, that made her smile.

"It is alright Mero." replied Wura with a smile as Mero stepped back creating some sense of distance between them.

"I did not mean to overstep any boundaries or cause you any discomfort if I have done so." said Mero as he apologized immediately, he did not know why he was apologizing, but he felt like he just had to apologize.

"You did not overstep any boundaries Mero, neither did you cause me any discomfort, if anything, I really needed comfort in that moment, so thank you for being there, and thank you for not judging me." said Wura as she smiled.

"This is why I appreciate our relationship so much, I feel as if I can tell you anything, or just voice out all my concerns and you will never judge me or hate me for that, so thank you Mero, thank you." said Wura as she gave him a quick hug and Mero stiffened.

He groaned internally as he cursed himself, what exactly was his problem? Why was he reacting this way? It was one thing for him to hug her, but when she hugged him he felt as if his heart had leapt out of his chest.

His mind was in an utter disarray. Those were not the words that he had wanted to hear, he had wanted her to put him in his place, to push him away, to tell him to go away, and yet he could not lie to himself, hearing her say those words.

That she needed him, that she appreciated him that she trusted him so much, made him feel so happy. He wanted to do more for her, to show his ever lasting support, and yet he knew that whatever it was that he was feeling was wrong, it was immoral, he should have never felt this way.

Yet he could not lie to himself that it just felt so good to hear such positive words that showed what she thought about him. It made him feel happy.

He did not know when he started to value her opinion, when he started to crave for her recognition and want her acceptance.

"No, thank you Wura." he said as he smiled and she smiled seeing him smiled as it suddenly returned back to her that their previous conversation was left unfinished.

"Now to more important things." said Wura as the smile of her face was replaced with a serious look and Mero wished that for one moment he would get to see her smile like that again.

"How long do we have to stay here then?" asked Wura as Mero cleared his throat and began to focus on the current conversation they were having.

Wura had asked a valid question, a very, very valid question to which Mero himself did not currently have the answer.

"Well it is uncertain to discern, but for a few days." said Mero.

"How many days is a few to you Mero?" asked Wura as Mero looked at her.

"Well a few in this case would be three to four days, make it three days." said Mero as he could tell from the look on her face that she wanted a definite answer.

"Alright." said Wura as she was relieved that at least she had an estimate.

"Yes, because we need to be sure that the troops sent by the East have left for good." said Mero.

"And you think that they will be far gone in three days?" asked Wura.

"I do not necessarily think that, but I hope that they will be, I will assign more guards to watch that area closely and report any unusual activity, we need to be sure of their movements and how long they intend to stay lingering in the area." said Mero as Wura nodded.

"And what if they do not leave at the end of three days?" asked Wura as she knew that was a very high possibility.

Mero sighed, if he was being honest, he did not want to worry Wura with all the worrying details of what he would have to do if the East did not leave, but she needed to know.

"If anything like that was to happen... then we would have no other choice than to leave, and I might even have to send for more guards and knights to escort us back to the camp, so that you will be safe." said Mero as he summed it up simply.

"I see..." said Wura as the thought of things becoming that bad made her honestly worried, but not too worried to the extent that she would start panicking again, she did not want to worry Mero even more, she did not want herself worried either.

"Yes, but for now you should not worry about that, I am sure that everything will be settled soon and before you know it we would have returned to the camp." said Mero as he smiled, trying to be positive, he knew that Wura did not need any negative news or views right now.

"I know Mero..." said Wura as she sighed, she could not lie, she was looking forward to returning back to everyone.

"I know that this must be difficult, but look at it this way, you get to spend more time with the people and that was something you wanted to do, now you have the chance to really do it to the best of your ability." said Mero as he smiled and Wura smiled.

He was right, at least there was something for her to do here rather than staying here worried about what might happened next.

"You are right Mero, thank you, I do have better things to do than to worry." said Wura as she smiled.

"You do not have to worry about me, I assure you that I am not going to worry anymore, I will make sure not to let this stress me alright? I promise you." said Wura as she smiled and she could see the washing look of relief on Mero's face.
