"Such big words, how about I give you a chance to prove it? Our industry will be holding a business party two weeks from now. Why don't you come with your partner; I will keep a reservation for you so you can show us the man who is better than Felix. What do you say?" This time, it was Amanda who spoke in place of Felix.
Sophie shifted her gaze to the woman beside Felix. She replied plainly, "Okay, I will be there."
"Humph, such arrogance" Felix scoffed.
" Make way"
" Move out of the way please"
" Mister, excuse me"
Right at that moment, a bunch of middle-aged-looking men in security uniforms arrived at the scene, followed by a man in a formal suit. They pushed their way through the crowd, finally making an opening to where Felix and the three women were standing.
"Hello, I'm very sorry to bother you but the management just informed me that your activity here is causing a disturbance in our business flow and you will have to move to somewhere else more appropriate for your meeting. I'm hoping we won't need to make a scene for this, right?" The middle-aged man in a suit stepped forward and said with a professional smile.
He had to be polite because of the status of the people he was dealing with; though that didn't prevent him from declaring his true intention, only that it was in a more friendly tone.
The party of four looked over to the middle-aged man who was smiling at them. They obviously wouldn't want to be thrown out by those security men as it would just be too embarrassing.
Amanda turned her gaze back to Sophie "I will be waiting for you to prove your worth in two weeks, I'm curious about the type of thug you would hire" Amanda said sarcastically. She wrapped her hand around Felix's arm as the duo walked away from the encirclement of the crowd.
Sophie just glared at their backs without giving any response to Amanda's taunt.
"Let's go home," She said to Kate and walked the other way, the latter quickly followed behind.
Without the presence of the acting Stars; the crowd soon dispersed.
"That was damn good, I'm so proud of you" Kate exclaimed the moment both she and Sophie got into her car.
Her eyes were literally sparkling as she stared at Sophie like a mother who finally witnessed her three months old baby say 'mama' for the first time.
"You were such a bada** back there, my Sophie finally grew up; you even made a bet, she's so stupid to have believed you would come, hahaha" Kate spouted non-stop with a satisfied grin on her face.
"I wasn't kidding," Sophie said seriously as her black eyes wandered the street through the window.
"Right right, I know you were…What! What did you just say!" Kate exclaimed upon realizing what Sophie meant. She wasn't kidding? Then you got to be kidding me.
Sophie finally looked at Kate. Her black eyes were overly masked with determination and her expression firm "I said I wasn't kidding; I'll be attending the business party in two weeks" her voice never for once showed any sign of nervousness or worry; she sounded so confident that Kate was almost convinced, but….
"The party is in two weeks! Two weeks! How on earth do you plan on getting a partner to attend with you? I know you are probably one of the most beautiful girls on the planet, but two weeks is just too short for this kind of problem to be solved; don't tell me you are planning to hire someone?"
Kate said with a worried filled voice.
Sophie has accepted the bet and if she doesn't find a new partner before the time, she won't be able to attend, and not going would be a huge embarrassment for her. Unless she plans on hiring a 'fake' which Kate obviously won't allow.
"Of course not, where would I get the money to hire someone?" Sophie glared at Kate for falsely accusing her. She wasn't that of a loser, okay?
Kate took a deep breath "phew, that's a relief. Don't worry, I will ask a friend of mine to accompany you, he is someone I trust. Let's get home first, I will contact him so you two can plan it out" Kate proposed with a smile, her expression was like " you owe me one"
Sophie raised an eyebrow at Kate's expression. She giggled, feeling amused by her childhood friend's way of helping
"There won't be any need for that, I will handle this on my own," she said confidently, one could even imagine that she already had a secret boyfriend.
Kate blinked and a frown came on her face "don't be silly, how are you going to get a boyfriend in two weeks? That is impos…." She stopped her words halfway. Her eyes widened with her mouth opening wide enough for an egg to fit in.
"Don't tell me….you are planning to attend what my mom said.. ..the matchmaking program" Kate said with uncertainty.
" Bingo," Sophie replied with a wink.
Kate almost choked with Sophie's new style of communication. What sort of sorcery is this? What changed?
"You can't be serious, right?" Kate stared intently at Sophie, hoping for the letter to say it was all a Jake, but what she got was Sophie's unperturbed expression.
"Come on, seriously? How can you go there? There are only old and broken people there, how do you expect to find a wealthy man there?" Kate almost felt like self-detonating.
Sophie darted a strange look at her friend before smiling brightly " I never said I wanted a wealthy partner. What I want is someone who will treat me better, and don't worry, I won't hesitate to escape if the other person is too old for me. I promise"
Kate sighed, knowing her childhood friend's nature, it would be nigh impossible to change her mind, she just drove in silence in the end.
In her heart, Kate already decided to escort Sophie on her new weird mission.

In the living room of a magnificent mansion. A heavenly defying handsome man could be seen sitting casually yet elegantly on a huge couch; the man had a rather strange expression on his face as his scarlet eyes sized up the fellow sitting on another huge couch opposite him.
"What are you doing here?" The red-eyed Beau….ahem…sorry, handsome man asked with a chilly voice that was enough to make anyone run away in freight.
Yet, the man opposite him only smiled like he just heard something funny.
"TKS TKS TKS, it has been so many years already, you still have no sense of what friendship is, do you? Raymond"
