Chapter 22

"What?" Yelena asked, surprised.

"Give me a nickname, too. Since you gave me permission to give you a nickname." Avyanna said while smiling at the latter.

"Wha--... I-I don't particularly need it. Obviously." Yelena just rolled her eyes as usual.

"Come on, Yena. Give me one." The purple-haired nags.

"You're enjoying this, aren't you?!" Yelena said, irritated.

"Well, kind of.."

"Kind of? That doesn't seem to be the case for me... Avy."

The proud lady grins widely. "Yes. Of course. Of--- What?"

Just then, she realized that a name had been given to her.

"W-what was that, Yena?" Avyanna asked, looking at the other lady with wide eyes.

"Hmm.." Yelena smirked and acted like an innocent girl, staring at Avyanna in confusion. "What do you mean, Miss Brooke?"

The purple-haired woman pouted. However, it disappeared when she noticed that the latter was cold.

Yelena was tightly holding onto the clothes Avyanna gave her.

"Are you cold?"

"What do you think?" Yelena asked, in sarcasm.

"Yeah. You are. Shall we go now, then? Let's head back. You're also probably tired because of the party."

Avyanna stretches her body and reaches for Yelena's hand.

Yelena just stared at the hand above her and then looked the other way.

"I'm still enjoying the view." Yelena said in an excuse.

She lay down on the sand while staring up above.

The bright sky is so fascinating to her. She had never admired the night sky like this. It somehow felt so relaxing and amusing.

She felt her eyes giving out, but she didn't notice that she had finally entered a deep slumber.

Avyanna saw this and felt enthusiastic. She carefully bent down and carried the lady.

"She's somehow... thin and a little lightweight." She mumbled before flying into the sky.

Avyanna lays Yelena down on the bed carefully.

She stared at the sleeping face of the latter and felt her heart skipping a beat.

She cautiously looked around the room, and when it was all secured, she put her face towards Yelena's cheeks and took a peck.

She immediately stood up and went out of the balcony with a reddened face. She was satisfied with a small thing.

She took one last glance before flying away.

♡♡ One week Later ♡♡

Another morning has arrived and today. Avyanna is going to visit Yelena. Somehow, the frequent visits became natural.

Yelena wrote her a letter a week ago, saying she could come whenever she wanted. She was confused by the letter but nothing has happened since then.

She is also doing her practice in magic at the Royal Duchy. Sometimes Yelena would watch her and she would show off, but often ended up messing up, and Yelena would have an indifferent expression and just sigh.

"My Lady!! Lady Royal is downstairs!" Diane came shouting.

"Wait what? I am not done with my clothes!" Avyanna panicked.

Avyanna rushed on, putting on the clothes that were delivered to her by Erica. It's a jumpsuit, she told Erica. She didn't know it would arrive faster than she expected.

"How about the hair, My Lady?" Diane asked.

"Wha-- Let it be." Avyanna answered.

After finishing everything, they went downstairs, and there was Yelena, who was patiently waiting.

Avyanna was stunned at the lady's appearance. She's wearing a red checkered dress and a bandana on her head. She's like a country bumpkin. No one would have noticed that the lady was an actual noble.

"So slow." She clicked her tongue and stood up. "Let's go."

"W-where are we going today?" Avyanna asked, leaning towards Yelena.

"Festival." Yelena simply answered.

Yelena secretly glares at Avyanna.

"Your clothes are unique. It'll attract anyone's attention." She plainly said this without any annoyance in her tone. Rather, it was a soft voice.

"Do I catch your attention, too?" Avyanna teasingly said.

"Wha--" Yelena's face became red, and she looked away. "What the hell?" She mumbled.

Avyanna giggles, and the two of them enter the carriage. They did not use the Royal's carriage. It's a rental carriage, and it looks ordinary.

They were quiet as ever. Avyanna couldn't do anything about the silence, so she just paid attention to her hair that wasn't tied.

She started braiding it on the side because it was getting all over her body and it irritated her. She actually planned to cut it before the delegation started.

"How do you do that?" Yelena suddenly asked, breaking the silence.

"Hmm?" She glances at Yelena and then at her hair. "You just divide them into three and then put the other into another." She shows how to do the braid.

Yelena stared at the process attentively. Avyanna smiled at the focused latter as she felt her heart racing and relaxing.

The ride went smoothly, and they arrived at their destination. The street is full of food stalls and there are more people. What do you expect from a festival anyway?

Yelena looked around and didn't know what to do first. She has never attended anything alone. She always attends parties but not festivals around the capital or the town.

Avyanna saw this and held Yelena by the hand.

"Let's go over there." She pointed to a crowded stall.

"Uhm.. okay." Yelena agreed, and they both walked towards the stall.

Avyanna looked at the stall and her eyes sparkled.

'Why the hell is that food here?' She asked herself.

"What's that?"

Avyanna was back to reality when Yelena spoke. She stares at the latter and smiles.

"You probably don't know this food." Avyanna took a stick. "That food is called a *fishball. You'll prick the food like this and then dip it in vinegar filled with garlic and onion. Then you just eat it. Here, open your mouth."

"Uh.. are you sure it's safe?" Yelena suspiciously glanced at the person who was selling the food.

Avyanna holds her laughter. "Foreigners." She whispered.

"Yeah, it's fine. You'll like this." She ensures.

"Y-you'll regret this if I end up being sick." Yelena said, and then opened her mouth to eat the so-called *fishball by Avyanna.

She tasted the flavor of vinegar that made her face sour. However, she liked it. She wouldn't taste the food without the vinegar.

"It can also be dipped in sauce. Would you like to?" Avyanna asked.

"Hmm." Yelena nodded.

Avyanna was happy that Yelena liked it, so she made sure that the latter tasted the other food that was on the stall. Even the egg covered in orange thing that was called *kwek-kwek.
