Chapter 2: First Sight (Part 2)

Cecilia's POV

Julia helped the girl and her dad to get out of the car. "I'm sorry about the trouble that I made, sir. I would ask my man to deliver your vehicle," Julia gave him her business card.

"We don't need your business card!" The girl rubbed her dad's shoulder.

"Once again, I'm sorry." Julia gets into her car and drive to her home.

She waves to Julia, "why you waved to her!?" She puts her hand down and hugging her dad's arm.

"I-I don't know." they walked inside the building and saw their grandparents standing in front of the door.

"Who's that girl, Cecilia, Rico!?" Cecilia's Nonno asked. Rico took a glanced at his daughter. He took a deep breath and gave them Julia's business card.

"That girl punched me at the gas station." Cecilia nods. They put the business card inside their pocket and took a deep breath.

Cecilia's Nonno approached his granddaughter and inspect her. "Are you alright, Cecilia?" Cecilia nods.

"I'm fine, Nonno. We argued, and that's why she punched dad." They took a deep breath.

The duo walked to their room. The tenant who lived there greeting them. They already live inside the building for generations. Maria made this building for other people who need low rent fees. They don't have the money to do a renovation. heir general income was from the building and Cecilia's client. She was a famous fortune teller in the neighborhood. Before COVID-19, they have a lot of clients queue to get their fortune read by her, but now, they should search for another job to survive.

Cecilia opened the door to room 308, where their great-grandparent lived.

"Nonna Maria, we're home." Rico said as he opened the door.

"Rico? Cecilia?" Rico took off his scarf and flat hat, then they walked to the Maria's room. "What took you so long?" Cecilia walked to the Maria's bed.

"We had an argue at the gas station, and Salvatore punched me." Maria looks at Cecilia.

"He's right, Nonna! She thought dad was my boyfriend." Maria took a glance at Rico and took a deep breath.

"What are both of you arguing about?" Rico dragged Cecilia to her bedroom and ignores Maria's question.

"It's time to for you to sleep, right?" Rico said as he dragged her into her bedroom.

Rico opened the door and guide her to the bedroom. Cecilia furrowed her brow. She can feel something off, but she didn't know what is it.

She walked to the wardrobe and picked her pajamas. "Dad, can I ask you something?" Rico sat on the edge of her bed.

"What do you want to ask?" Rico asked her.

"Why did you act weird since the accident? I mean, y-you not look like a person I knew again." Rico's face turned pale. He wiped his sweat.

"I-I'll answer you in the morning, okay? You should get some sleep, you tired." it disappointed Cecilia with Rico's answer.

Rico stood up and he walked to the door and took a glance at her, "good night," Rico closed the door and sighed.

He jolted because Maria stared at him. "Nonna! You almost got me heart-attack!" Maria crossed her arms over her chest.

"We have an agreement, Rico. Do you remember?" Rico clenched his fist and ignores her, but Maria is more adamant more than him. "If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything." Rico was speechless.

He looks on his back and clenched his fist. "I don't want you to hurt my Cecilia, Rico. You killing her slowly," Rico took a deep breath and punched to the wall nearby him.

"I-It's difficult, you know!" Maria walked to her bedroom, leaving Rico alone, shouting her name.

Cecilia opened her eyes as her alarm clock was ringing. She stretched her muscle and took a deep breath. It's a sunny day and her first day and Rico worked. "Good morning…" Cecilia took a deep breath and a scent of fresh instant coffee at the morning makes everyone energized to start their activity that day.

"You don't have to, dad. I can do it by myself." he took a deep breath as he observed his daughter's movement. Cecilia gets up and picked her white cane.

"What time is it now?" Rico picked his phone.

"8 AM." Cecilia furrowed her eyebrow.

"Haha…" Rico standing next to Cecilia, "it's 7.09 AM," Cecilia rolled her eyes.

Julia's POV

Julia sat on the chair, then put her briefcase on her side. She picked bread in front of her. She tries ignores her Nonno, but no avail. "Good morning, Nonno." Vito puts his fork and knife on the plate.

"Do you want tea?" She shook her head.

"Let's stick to the point, okay?" Vito pours a black coffee for Julia.

"Haha… That's why I like you," Vito gave Julia a photo. "This is your next task," Julia took the photo and narrowed her brows.

"I know you have a meeting today, but it's important to our client. A good stuff from Mexico will come tonight. I want you to find the snitch, and my intel said there's one undercover agent inside their rally tonight and bring them to me, comprende!?" Julia took a deep breath and nodded.

Julia put the picture inside her suit and continues her breakfast. "It will take a while, Nonno. I can't just see in a snap of a finger, but I tried my best." Vito nods.

"I trust you, Julia. Once you have done with tonight's task. I will promote you, you have my word." Julia put on her fork and knife and took a deep breath.

"Non…" Vito cuts her words by shushing. Julia sighed and forced to waiting for him to talk.

"What happened last night? It's my fault, Julia. I should stick to my plan. I'm sorry." Vito said.

Julia took a deep breath and exhale. Thanks to this mess, she met a beautiful, blind girl. "I should apologize, if I ignoring you for the entire night." Vito patted her shoulder and nods.

He was proud of her great-granddaughter for having a unique personality. For Salvatore admitted they were wrong was special. Vito observed her attire, then looks at his watch.

"It's still 7 AM. Why so early?" Julia opened her briefcase and handing Vito a blueprint.

"You know I was bad with paper," Vito said as Julia scratching her hair.

"I have a meeting with a client today. You know Tan Lee Kong? Head chief of Gold Dragon syndicate?" Vito nods, "they will build a condo at an empty lot on 6th street." She continued, "and they are so reluctant to move because that area is full of mud." Julia picked a teapot and pour it on her bread, then she put the seasoning jar on top of her bread.

"You get it Nonno?" Vito laughed as he patted her shoulder.

Vito "He was an old man like me, Julia." She took a deep breath. Vito has a point. Tan Lee Kong was an old man that when he said he wants it, then you should do it or else.

"Good morning, Nonno, Julia," Julia helps her brother to sit. Julia's Ma sat in front of her and put her handbag on the table.

"I want to sit next to you," Julia help Mariano sit next to her.

"There you go, little prince." Her mom looks at her. She feels warmth whenever saw Mariano and Julia get along to each other's company.

"Julia, can you drop your brother at his school today?" Julia looks at her.

"You have flight again?" She nods. She tries her best to smile.

"I should stay for a week in Jerusalem to take care of our divorce process. Can you take Mariano to school for a week?" Julia sighed.

"Are you will leave my dad, ma?" Julia mumbling as she spread the jam. Mariano hugged Julia's wrist and he lift his head and smiled.

Julia tried her best to smiled at him and looking to the person in front of her. Julia put a slice of bread on her plate.

Julia's ma took a glance at her daughter, while she spread her the jam, "so, how's your company going?" Julia nods as she chewed her bread.

"Business is good, but I should find another solution for this case. You want to look at it?" Julia looks at her and sighed.

Julia's ma chuckles and shook her head. "No thanks," she said.

"Julia, Julia." Her brother called her. She's hummed. "I want breakfast at McDonald's!" Julia put another bread on her plate.

"Okay," Mariano cheering and her chauffer walked towards her.

"Excuse me, Ms. Salvatore," Julia looked at her chauffeur, "it's time." Julia packed her belongings.

"I'm off," Julia grabbed her briefcase and Mariano's hand.

Cecilia POV

Cecilia and Rico sat at the bus stops. Cecilia hummed to herself while a smile draws on her face. Rico notice Cecilia's behavior, he wants to tell her the truth, but he doesn't have courage. He looks at Cecilia's beautiful face. It's already been a year since they living together.

Rico's feelings towards her grow as their spending time with each other every single day.

A honk sound make he forced to stop daydreaming about Cecilia. Rico rolled his eyes, and he grabbed Cecilia's hand.

Julia's POV

Julia gets out of her car and approached them. Julia tapped her shoulder. "Good morning, sir, you." Cecilia unplugged her headset and rubbed Julia's face.

"My name is Cecilia," Julia hummed. She scratching her hair and took a deep breath.

"Good morning and nice to meet you, Cecilia." Julia said.

"Morning too," Julia nods and smiled at her.

They smiled at each other and made Rico clenched his fist and jaw.

"Where were you two going?" Rico pulls Cecilia aside and glared at her. The bus stops and they leaving Julia. Julia narrowed her eyes and looked at them.

Cecilia POV

Rico sat Cecilia in the seat and she rubbed her arm. "What's wrong with you!?" Rico took a deep breath.

He sighed as he looks at Julia, who was on the phone. Rico clenched his fist and jaw. "Don't go near that girl, Cecilia. She's not good for you." Cecilia furrowed her brow.

"Do you have a reason with that, dad!?" Rico ignores Cecilia's question. Cecilia took a deep breath and plugged her headset into her ears.
