Chapter 46: Second Wave (Part 1)

Julia's POV

Julia helped her wife to clean their little coffee shop. Julia's dad is still in a coma. The couple decide to open a coffee shop with Julia's hidden stash and bank loan. It's already opened a week ago and everything goes well. They use upstairs as they are living space and helping homeless people as their employees.

Julia is still inside the underworld as drug traffickers, and she uses her expertise to rule the territory. She joined a gang called Grizzly Squad lead by an African-American man named Joshua Campbell. Her life inside Salvatore still going on, beside of that, she looking for another gang to become their allies.

Cecilia knows about her become a drug traffickers, but she did not allow Julia to use their coffee shop as a place to transact. Julia also got a job as a manager at McDonald's. All of her capos and henchmen helping them in open hours, and go back to the mansion at night, or when Julia arrived from work.

She took a deep breath and cuddling with her wife on the couch. They tried to save money for Cecilia's eye surgery. Max joined them on the couch while the couple cuddling on the sofa. Julia still working at her company as CEO, but since her Nonna was here, she doing it at their home.

She tried to avoid the spotlight while her Nonna was here. "How's your day at work?" Julia brushing Cecilia's hair and snugged at her neck.

Julia sighed, "bored. What about you?" Cecilia giggling and she kissed her wife's lips.

Cecilia played with her fingers and give her hand a little massage. "I miss my old shop, Julia. What if we run this place as a fortune teller booth and coffee shop? People will love that, right?" Julia scratching her hair and narrowed her eyebrow.

Julia holds her hand. "it's a bad idea I've ever heard, babe," Julia said. "What if you using a blog to read other people's fortune?" Cecilia circles her hand on her waist.

"I'm blind, Julia." Julia cupped her face and brushed her hair.

"I will become your eyes, babe. I will read it for you, and your job it's read their fortune." Julia rubbed her cheek and pecked at her lips.

"I need a tarot card," Julia narrowed her brow.

Julia stood up and helping Cecilia to stand up. "Taro… what?" Cecilia took a deep breath and exhale. It overwhelmed her sometimes. When Julia demands an explanation, she will keep asking until she got her answer she wants.

Julia guides her to the dining room, and she pulled the chair for Cecilia. "Tarot card. Tarot card it's playing card in mid-15th century of Europe. An occult using a tarot card to read their past, present, and future. You can search it in Google anyway!" Julia put mashed potato on her plate.

Julia sat in front oh her and their hands tangled in each other. When Julia was about to pray, a knocking door heard. Julia took a deep breath and told Cecilia to sit. "Let me open this for you, babe." Julia walked to the door and opened the door. She saw her ma soaked wet with Mariano sleep in her arms, she looks at Matthew holding her luggage.

Julia opened the door wide, and she helped Matthew to bring the luggage. "What happened?" Julia asked to Matthew. She heard Cecilia calling her name and approached her.

"Julia? Who is our guest?" Julia put the luggage in the living room and looking at her ma, "your mother-in-law, Cecilia." Julia looking at Matthew. "Put Mariano in our room, Matthew, and did I have an appointment tonight?" Matthew nods.

"Mr. Maslow wants have a deal with us," Julia cheering in silent. She looks at her ma and reassures her. "Ma, what happened?" Julia guide her wife to the living room and sat her on the couch. Cecilia sat next to her in-law, and she touched her hand.

"Julia, can you pick a new towel?" Julia nods and she walked to the washing room.

Cecilia's POV

Cecilia heard another step, and she knew it's Matthew's. "Matt?" Matthew standing in front of the door and he crossed his arms. "What happened?" Matthew didn't want to talk until Julia arrived and gave her ma a towel.

"Babe, it's better let my ma changed her clothes, so we can have dinner together," Cecilia and Julia's ma walked to their room and leave Julia with Matthew.

Cecilia opened the door for her and saw Mariano sleeping on their bed. "I'm sorry for my disturbance, Cecilia," she said.

Cecilia smiled and shook her head. "We are glad both of you come here, ma. Don't need to say sorry." Cecilia strolled her way to the cupboard. Cecilia opened the door, and she picked her pajamas, then gave it to Julia's ma. "I…" Julia's ma smiled.

"You have an excellent taste, Cecilia. It's fine." Cecilia giggling.

"Let me put your dress to the laundry basket. Tomorrow Julia will deliver it to your laundry," Cecilia said. Cecilia let her use their bathroom and she sat on the edge of their bed and she heard Mariano sobbing.

Cecilia approaching him and reassuring little Salvatore. Cecilia took a deep breath. "It will be okay, Mariano. You still have us," Cecilia keep petting his head, until he calms. Cecilia sighed, and she took a deep breath. She fixed Mariano's blanket and picked Julia's pillow at his side.

Julia's POV

Julia put another plate on the table, and she sighed. "She doing it again, right?" Matthew nods. Julia sat on the couch and she pondered. She should do something, or her family will crumble. Julia leans her shoulder, and she looked at Matthew. "Can you looking an information about her? Do it secretly, Matthew. I know she has ears and eyes everywhere, but be careful." Matthew nods and he walked outside.

Julia picked her phone and called Mr. Takeshi. She will do anything to protect her family.
