Chapter 52: Fifth Wave (Part 1)

Julia's POV

Julia walking towards the door to helping her wife to sweep the floor of their coffee shop. "Babe, where I should put the garbage?" Cecilia pointing to the empty trash can outside.

Julia opened the door, and she saw two men standing nearby her trash can. She approached them. "Update?" She asked.

Matthew put the letter on the top of the trash can. "Your Nonna planning to visit your office on Tuesday. You should prepare." He said.

Julia picked the letter, then put it inside her coat. Julia looking at the dark sky and sighed, "go grab for the ingredients, and start today. Bring her here every Saturday." Julia put her hand inside her coat.

Matthew furrowed his brow. "It's too risky, right?" Julia tapped Matthew's shoulder and smiled at him.

"We take the risk," Julia sighed, and she looked at Enzo. "Where's Paulo? Another task?" Enzo shook his head.

He put a wooden box on the top of the trash can and opened the lid. Julia looking inside the box and she picked the human eye. "It's Chester's," He said.

Julia put back again Chester's eye into the box and looked at Enzo. "he's in an asylum." Enzo closed the lid.

Julia sighed. "Wh-what about Irene? She's alive?" Enzo nods.

He gave her a piece of papers to Julia. "You can find her there." Enzo grabbed the wooden box and walked towards the car.

Matthew sighed. "We miss you, boss. I'm not lying," He said as he light the cigarette. Julia also misses her room and her luxury lifestyles, but it's too early to giving up.

Julia put the piece of paper on her coat. "I don't know, Matthew," Julia leaned her back on the alley wall and sighed.

"Don't give up, boss. You've got this," Matthew said. He tapped Julia's shoulder several times and smiled at her.

"Thank you, Matthew." Julia straightened her body, then exhale. "I should promote you as my cosigner," Matthew shook his head.

"Take your time before deciding, boss. We know you killed those agents, and the traitor was an enormous risk." Julia took a deep breath, then exhale.

"Okay, that's a command for now, and don't forget to…" Matthew hugged Julia and patted her back.

"I don't have a child, but I can feel you were an obedient daughter, boss. You've got this!" Julia holds her tears because she couldn't let her capos sees her tears.

Julia let her go his hugged and took a deep breath. Julia walked to the inside. "What take…" She embracing her wife. "…you so long?" Cecilia replied her embrace.

Julia ignores her wife's question. "My henchmen believe in me," Cecilia smiled as she brushed her wife's hair.

"I believe in you too, Julia. We believe in you," Julia took a deep breath, then she put her hand on the cheek. "I'm here with you." Cecilia kissed Julia's cheek, then she gave her an eyes smile.

Julia bewitched by her smile. How lucky she was. She has an angelic wife and position she wants for decades. She can't give up now.

She wiped her tears and sighed. "Chester is being treated at asylum," Julia said. She should tell her because he was her ex-lover.

Shockingly to Julia, she did not respond like the other day. Cecilia sighed and smiled at her, then grabbed her hand. "I have you. Even you get into detention. I'm panicked." Julia chuckle.

She sighed. Julia tried to get rid of her negative thinking about her right now. Julia picked a box of fruits and walked to the storage room.

"Julia!? Your mom here," Julia passes the box to her employee, then walked to the kitchen. "Ma, what's going on?" Julia looking at her hand.

"I need help." She showed her paper to counting out my profit." Julia looking at her wife and nods.

"I've got this," she said.

Julia scratching her cheek and the duo walked to their office. "Do you want coffee?" Julia asked.

Julia pulled the chair for her mom and let her sit in front of the desk. "Yes, please." Julia walked to the pantry and turned on the Nespresso's machine.

"You seem confused. What's wrong?" Julia took a glance at her mom and sit on the countertop.

"My wife's ex he went to the asylum, mom. W-when I told her, she did not react." She said.

Margaretha approach her daughter and she hugged her. Julia jumped down. "That's great!" Julia furrowed her brow.

"Why is that?" Julia wiped her nose. Margaretha furrowed her brow.

"It's good, Julia. That means she opened her heart for you!" Margaretha followed Julia and they sat on the couch.

Julia sighed. She leaned her head on her ma's shoulder, "but I'm not sure." Julia straightened her body. "W-what if…" Margaretha slapped her head.

"Love meant pumping off a cliff and trusting that a certain person would be there to catch you at the bottom," Julia rolled her eyes after she hearing Margaretha's quoted.

Julia raised her eyebrow, "Julie Lessman? Since when do you like to reading a book?" Margaretha slapped her head again.

"I might be a model, but a wise man said. Never late to learn anything, right?" Julia rubbed her head.

"You were right, ma." Julia said.

"Trust your wife, Julia. She trust you, right?" Julia nods. What her ma said was right.

Open your heart to someone you love. It wasn't enough. You should trust your spouse more than anything in this world. Julia leaned her back and staring at the ceiling.

"Are you tired?" Julia looking at her mom and shook her head.

"What happened to us these days, it's an adversity. We should brace and be ready for it." Margaretha smiled.

She didn't know that her daughter can say a beautiful thing to her. Julia stood up and walking to her desk.

"Ma, can I ask you one question?" She sat at the desk and looked at her mom. "Did you already open my heart to my dad?" Margaretha smiled, turned to grim.

"He never treats me well, Julia. How can I open my heart to him?" Margaretha said. Julia tapping her fingers on the desk.

"When our heart is open. Everything we do becomes love, Mimi Novic." Margaretha did not respond to her daughter's words.

Julia stood up, and she put the paper on the coffee table and sat next to her mom.

When Julia wants to sit, her office door opened, and Cecilia looks pale. Julia approached her wife. Julia took off her coat and wearing her on her shoulder.

"Y-your Nonna here," Julia sighed. Julia, wearing her disguise, then smiled at her.

She brushed Cecilia's hair. "Everything will be fine, okay?" Cecilia nods, then she embraces her.
