Introvert Person

(A few months later, in the Year 2048.)

"Ugh…" The piercing chime of an alarm clock woke Violet up.

She rolled on her side and buried her face in the pillow. When it didn't stop, Violet groaned and ordered.

"Quit it, Flora. I'm awake now."

Flora is Violet's personal AI that runs the security system of her house, including the entire premises of her place. Not only that, an AI like Flora does more for its owner's wellness.

[Good morning, Miss Violet.]

"Good morning, Flora." Violet returned the greetings as she sat up, yawning while kneading her forehead.

[You didn't have a good sleep last night, Miss Violet.]

Flora appeared on the footbed and showed her owner's vital statistics as she continued reporting.

[You have low blood pressure today. Please refrain from staying up too late and follow your balanced diet today.]

Violet frowned and glared at the hologram that would appear anywhere in her house once she summoned her. Last night, she ordered Flora to wake her up earlier than usual, even though she slept late.

"Alright. I've finished binge-watching the drama Lavender produced and directed. It will be months before the second season comes out when the shooting of season two is still in progress. Ah! Lavender is awesome! I'm sure she will win the best actress award again."

[Miss Violet, you should not underestimate yourself. The drama would not be that successful if it weren't for your contribution.]

Violet ignored what Flora had said. She got out of bed and walked toward the bathroom to brush her teeth.

In the bathroom, Violet slightly bent her body to wash her face. Staring at the water from the faucet, she pondered for a moment.

"Flora, mirror, please." She ordered her AI while brushing her teeth.

Immediately, it lit up the vast space on the sink wall, and a mirror appeared.

"Please show me all the news regarding the drama."

Instantaneously, several websites appeared in the mirror. Violet scanned the articles and videos of interviews with the production of the drama she co-wrote with Lavender Shen.

"You know what, Flora? The drama was successful because of Lavender's brilliance. She could act and she was even an excellent film director. She is also a screenwriter who wrote her action scenes, and what I only contributed to the drama were the lame parts."

[Even so, the original plot is mainly your idea. Miss Lavender would not have the entire storylines without you.]

Violet smirked as she looked at Flora's hologram standing one meter away. "You were flattering me a lot lately. It seems like you badly wanted the humanoid body."

Even though Flora is only an AI, she is a Grade-A Class type designed to read and respond to the owner's emotions.

Right now, Flora shows Violet a cute smile and puppy-like eyes. Seeing this, Violet chuckled. She would love to pet her AI if she were in the form of a humanoid.

"All right. Let's save up a billion to buy you a body and upgrade your Intelligence," said Violet.

She walked out of the bathroom, and Flora was already outside the door. Through Flora's command, tiny robots appeared and placed the yoga mat on the floor.

[Is that true, Miss? A billion? Then, the upgrade you were talking about is Combat Ability?]

"Hmm… Although Crow Tech has not yet perfected a human-like combatant, maybe I already had a billion dollars in my bank account when they successfully created one."

[Miss Violet…] Flora is already well up with tears out of happiness if she is a human.

Actually, her owner can get a billion dollars from her parents. As the only princess in the family, her owner was pampered and doted on by her parents and, most of all, her grandparents. Also, her Aunt Erika Shang spoiled her a lot because she had no daughter but a bunch of boys.

However, Flora understood her owner wanted to buy a Grade-A Class humanoid body with her own earnings through her sweat and blood.

[Miss, I would be glad to have a body. I could do more things for you.]

Violet looked up and smiled at Flora. She was already stretching on the yoga mat.

"You are very helpful to me already. I'd love to have you with me all the time. You can be my assistant since you have sorted out my schedules and important appointments."

Violet fixed her position on the yoga mat. She sits still and closes her eyes. After a long time of silence, she spoke again.

"I've been thinking about it, Flora. You are correct. The drama would not be a film without my initial plot. But my story would not come alive without Lavender's brilliance in acting and directing action movies. My character is lame and lazy, but they were developed very well with Lavender's guidance."

[Then, would you write the third season of the drama, Miss Violet?] Flora asked, and she sounded eager.

Violet raised a brow. Now she was in the mood to tease her AI. "Heh. I'm not the only one who binge-watches the drama."

[Ahem! Since it saved the drama in my system. It was my job to run a scan on every file that you receive, Miss.]

Violet smiled and commented nothing to her AI's excuse. It was really amazing to have her.

A type of her worth a billion, but it is so worth it as many things she could do. Maybe Flora's capability is limited outside; still, she is helpful to its owner since she is connected to her cars, cellphone, and computers.

Also, the owner wears a bracelet to communicate with the AI regularly. It is the only way she could monitor her vitals and emotional stability.

The owner can also customize the hologram's appearance, and Flora was designed based on Violet's image.

She felt weird the first time she looked at a computer image of herself. But now that she is used to it already, she was the luckiest daughter to receive such a gift from her parents.

It feels like she has a twin sister since she rarely sees her twin brother, but only during family holidays and momentous occasions.

She felt less lonely having Flora talk with her, listen to her complaints, or share her ideas. Flora could read her emotions and had the ability to advise her when she was feeling down and lower her self-confidence as an author.

She is fortunate to have been born into a wealthy family and to live a privileged life like this. She guessed the suicide rate would be lower if everyone could afford a personal AI.

Many people cannot share their sorrows and frustrations in life. Even though she is wealthy, she is an introvert, so she stays away from attending social gatherings in upper Upper Society. Gratefully, she has someone she can let out her feelings to without being afraid of judging her.

"Flora, I had a nightmare last night." That encounter months ago still haunts her and becomes a nightmare. "Please play me some soothing music tonight."

[I will sort out a new playlist for you, Miss Violet.]

"Thank you. What is my schedule for today?"

[You have three meetings for today. Two are virtual conferences, and one is a physical meeting with HL Real Estate.]

"Them again? When would they give up?"

[Yes. They keep sending appointment requests twice a week. If they make another appointment, what should I do?]

"Please reject them."

[Note.]

Violet resumed her yoga exercise, which lasted for half an hour.

"Flora, contact the Cafe for me."

[WHITE HOUSE Cafe is on the line, Miss Violet.]

"Good morning, my dear cousin!" On the other line, Letty spoke. "What breakfast do you want me to prepare for you?"

"The usual. How are things there?"

"Some guests are arriving even though it's still 4:30 AM. They won't miss the sunrise. Soon, the place will be crowded since today is Sunday, a Family Day. I've hung up the special menu."

"Great." Violet was satisfied with Letty's efficiency.

Leticia is her cousin on her mother's side, living here in Remy Town. She graduated with a major in Business Management, so Letty was very reliable.

With her, Violet had fewer worries and had confidence that her cafe and restaurant were in expert hands, even if she was not around.

"Letty, don't you think it was a good idea to build a resort around her?" After a while, Violet queried her cousin.

"It's up to you. It was a good business since many guests will visit WHITE HOUSE GARDEN. Even foreign tourists are always looking for a place to stay overnight. Hanford City is just a half-hour away and a few minutes by train, but people would love to watch the dancing sun in the morning."

Violet keenly listens to Letty. It was a great idea indeed. However, she was hesitant to approve the proposal because it would change how she lived in peace.

She was an utterly introverted person. Even though she would hire capable employees, she has to take part, and managing a resort would be a lot of work.

Now…

Should she consider the HL Real Estate proposal?
