Who Is That Woman?

The two secretaries didn't notice the annoyance in her tone: both politely bowed and warmly smiled before they dashed outside.

Violet didn't know that the two women were instantly gossiping when they exited the lounge area, and their subject was her.

Returning to their table, they continued gossiping.

"Don't you think that Miss Shang has the same figure as the woman in the Blind Item that was published a few months ago?"

"I thought I was the only one who noticed it!"

"I could never be mistaken! Even though the boss immediately removed the article. I will never forget the curve of that woman's body. It perfectly matches Miss Shang!"

"Could it be that Miss Shang is our future Mrs. Williams?"

The two secretaries squeal with their conclusions.

"Ah, that's for sure! Everyone wondered how prominent this person is coming today because it was the first time that Assistant Lainey personally arranged everything to accommodate our super VIP client."

"You're right. Who would have thought? It was the Shang princess!"

"Ahem!"

The two secretaries shuddered when someone coughed from the corner. They quickly shut their mouths and looked up. What awaited them was Assistant Laney's icy gaze. His face darkened.

"Please be reminded that you signed the NDA contract. So, it is wise to stitch your mouth starting today. Otherwise, you'll lose your jobs and find none after."

The two secretaries were speechless, watching Lainey's disappearing back.

'That was a warning!'

They are both terrified to imagine losing a job and being blocked-listed after! It was the end of their just blossoming career if they were fired from the company! Crow Corporation has an unimaginable connection to the entire world.

The two secretaries looked at each other meaningfully; with fingers on their lips, they zippered their mouths and winked, giggling inside their hearts.

Now that she was alone, Violet stood up from the couch and walked toward the floor-ceiling window.

She is not fond of living in the city, but she cannot refuse to admit that the scenery before her is breathtaking.

It made her wonder how many women Allen had already brought to the top floor.

She heard from Seth that there was a penthouse on the rooftop. And even the news confirmed it after that rumor a few months ago.

Allen is very secretive about his private affairs; no one ever captures him being with his women. He could even detect the tiniest drones spying on him, so everyone became too curious about his love life.

There are witnesses that he is seeing someone, but they refuse to say a word to the media.

"Who is that woman?"

It was everyone's question.

And Violet only heard the news being subjective by her female employees, who gossiped with Leticia during their weekly meetings. But she is not interested in entertainment news, so she never reads those articles posted on every social media platform.

"Miss Shang?"

Violet abruptly turned around when she heard the sliding glass door open again. She had a smile on her lips, thinking it was Randy who had entered.

But to her disappointment, the person is Allen's senior assistant, Laney.

"Where is Doctor Lao?" Coldness lingered in her eyes as she asked the guy.

Laney noticed the smile on Violet's face faded and the brightness in her eyes replaced with confusion.

From what he observed, she was disappointed. Now it confused him as well. He thought Violet wanted to see his boss.

"Miss Shang, the information I received is that you wanted to see President Shang. So I came to fetch you. I will escort you toward Williams Research Center to meet him."

Violet widened her eyes. "Why would I want to see him? I made an appointment with Doctor Lao's secretary. Why is there a misunderstanding with whom I want to meet from your company?"

Laney didn't know what to answer. Suddenly, he becomes anxious.

Why did Doctor Lao's secretary inform him that Miss Violet Shang wanted a meeting with the president?

"Miss Shang, the information I received is that you are requesting to meet the President."

Although he believes Violet does not need to make an appointment to see her boyfriend. Now it turns out there is a huge misunderstanding.

'Ah! What am I going to do now!?'

Williams Research Center

"I will give you a three-month bonus if you convince her."

It was what Allen told his assistant before he ended the call. A cunning smile appeared on his face causing Randy to be dumbfounded.

"What are you up to?" he asked.

Allen glanced at Randy. He ignored his question but returned to query instead.

"What are you doing here?"

His face exhibited displeasure. Violet will arrive soon, and he didn't finish his preparation, but then Randy decided to visit him.

"Don't forget that Violet originally set an appointment with me."

Randy reminded him.

But in fear that Allen would bury him alive in the center of the Earth, he immediately instructed his secretary to contact Laney and arrange a meeting for Allen and Violet.

He is a very considerate best friend. But Allen is such a petty person. Now he was treated as only a nuisance. 'How ungrateful this man is!'

Watching his mouth twitch, Allen could tell that Randy was cursing someone in his head. He grinned and asked, "Who did you murder in your head?"

Randy shivered when Allen guessed what was on his mind. He instantly flashed a handsome smile and said,

"I just wanted to give you something. Clint and I spend days and nights completing the data. All it needs now is to run a test if it works fine."

Randy put a cube on the table, confusing Allen.

He asked, "What is that?"

Randy replied, "Instead of memorizing the ancient prayers, this cube contains the chant to open a portal to travel time or visit another timeline."

Allen was surprised. He stared at Randy in disbelief. "How are you certain it will work?"

"Well, I wish we could test it soon. But we need the sorceress's blood for the portal to appear and bring you anywhere."

Allen picked up the cube and examined it. He asked, "So what exactly will happen to the cube?"

"The cube will activate, displaying the spells once it contacts the sorceress' blood. Clint poured all his knowledge into understanding ancient writings. We replicated the magic circle drawing inside the cube," Randy explained.

He added, "Instead of using a paper talisman, or we will draw the magic circle on the ground, print out those words on paper, I converted them into these cubes instead. This way, the sorceress doesn't need to read the book or chant the words. The portal will activate just with one drop of her blood."

Allen looked at Randy and muttered gloomily.

"But we are uncertain whether she is reincarnated in this lifetime. How could I open the portal and take Mama home if we didn't find her? If only sister Madison was alive…."

Allen chokes. He swallowed hard and chose not to finish his words after his chest clouded with emotion that he only suppressed every second of his life.

The sorceress…

She is the only hope that he has now since the time machine does not work.

Allen was in a trance. Seeing his gloomy mood, Randy shared his ideas.

"Allen, I'm thinking of inputting the data from the cubes to our time machine. Maybe we can merge ancient data with our present technology. What do you think?"
