ALL THEY NEEDED WAS A WOMAN IN THEIR LIFE

Mia and Isabella finally arrived at their next destination.

The ambiance within The Sweet-treat Bakery was nice and homey, inviting an inner smile that warms from the inside.

The shop in a beautiful design of pink and white hues brought a certain sweetness to it.

The freshly oven-baked aroma of different food and pastries filled the air wafting their nostrils into a wonderland of pleasant smells as they walked into the bakery."So what do you think? Didn't I tell you it's an amazing place?" Mia asked, turning to Isabella.

"Yeah, it's nice. You have great taste, Mia," Isabella could not help but praise Mia for her choice.

The fragrance passing through her nostrils alone was enough to make her drool.

"Aww, thanks, baby. Now let's go find a seat and order our food," Mia, wearing a satisfied smile, held Isabella's hand and walked towards a free table without wasting any more time.

Outside the little bakery, a man dressed in black and cool sunglasses was observing the mother and daughter pair from the window side as they both interacted.

Meanwhile, in Parker Enterprise, inside a dark and gloomy office, a man could be seen sitting in his chair.

Another man stood across in front of him."Speak!" Eden commanded with a cold tone.

Startled by his Boss's icy voice, Mr Joe quickly said, "I just got a report from the man you sent to guard Mrs Parker and the little missy. He said that after Mrs Parker took the young missy to her school, they left after only a few minutes and are currently in a bakery at Migos street."

"A bakery, huh!" Eden sighed.

He had been tense ever since Aunt Mary said Mia took Isabella out.

It's not that he didn't trust her. He was just scared that she would be like those sneaky snakes he had left his daughter with years ago.

And anyway, Mia's family already hated her. If they could sell her to the black market, what couldn't they do to her, and that could also affect his daughter's welfare?

After listening to Mr Joe, Eden's mood finally calmed down, and so did the temperature in the office.

It was like a storm was about to blow over, but now it felt like the sun had finally overpowered the storm.

A stunned look flashed across Mr Joe's face briefly. In all his years working for Eden, he had never seen Eden change his mood so easily after hearing just a woman's name.

He didn't know how Mia had changed his boss's behaviour, but he liked it.

Indeed, all Eden and Isabella needed was a woman in their life. And now that they got one, things seemed to be much better.

*******

After Mia and Isabella finished stuffing their stomachs with cakes and desserts, they paid the bill and left.

There were a lot of things these two had in common. One was that they loved talking a lot, while the other was their love for pastries, even to the extent that they could be called gluttons.

Walking towards the car, Isabella asked, "So where are we off next, Mia?"

"Ummm, let me think...where do you want to go?" Mia asked after contemplating.

"Well, I thought you would never ask," Isabella said with a smile before adding, "I want to see my new Grandma."

"Huh!" Mia responded, a bit surprised by her request.

Nodding, she pulled Isabella towards the car that instantly sped off to their next destination after they got in.

It didn't take long before they arrived outside the house, which now belonged to Mia's family.

Coming out of the car, Mia held Isabella's hand as they both walked inside. They passed by the front yard, which housed a well-maintained garden filled with beautiful grasses and flowers.

It had a refreshing ambiance welcoming one to what a true home felt like. They reached the front door and were welcomed by one of the Head maids, "Welcome, Madam, welcome young missy," the head maid said, lowering her head in a respectable bow.

"Hmm," Mia nodded in response before asking, "Please, is my mom inside?"

"Yes, old madam is inside." The head maid responded.

"Great, then Isabella, let's go in and see your grandma," Mia grinned, excited at introducing her lovely new daughter to her mother.

Mia and Isabella went inside.Just like she remembered, the house was still identical.

The only difference was it now felt like people were now living there.

Relaxing on the couch was Alice. She hadn't been able to sleep all night.

She was thinking about her daughter. She held a cup of tea in her hands and drank it elegantly.

Seeing her mom give off a classy madam vibe made Mia happy. She walked towards her mother, holding Isabella's hands, and with a whining tone, she questioned, "Ma, you don't look like you miss me at all."

Slightly startled but happy to see her daughter, Alice said, "Mia, you are here. What do you mean by that?"Alice sat upright and motioned her daughter to take a seat.

Then she scoffed, "I didn't even have a good night's rest because of you, and here you are saying I don't care about you. What an unfilial child?"

"Ma, don't be angry. You know that I was only teasing you," Mia said in a playful tone.

"Humph! Who is this pretty Angel," Alice said, turning her attention to the quiet Isabella.

She softly pinched Isabella's cheeks."Well, Ma, this is Isabella, my daughter, and your grandchild."Hearing that, Alice's face brightened up, "Really, wow, she is so pretty. She must have her mother's beauty. Awn, such a cute girl."Hearing her praises made a sweet smile grace Isabella's lips, "Thank you, Granny."

Taken aback a little by Isabella's little and mellifluous voice, Alice said, "Ahh, she can even speak so well. How old is she?"Mia smiled as she answered her mother, "She is 8, but she will be turning nine soon."

"Wow, she is very mature. What a beautiful young lady," Alice showered praises on Isabella again.

While Mia and her mother were talking, Kate came downstairs.

She wore a blue shirt and a pink t-shirt and had a headset around her neck.

Kate was one of Mia's twin siblings. She was sixteen years old and had just started high school.

Unlike Mia, Kate resembled her father because she had blonde hair and beautiful green emerald eyes.

And the same was for Nate, but the only difference was he had blue eyes like Mia rather than green.

Walking towards her sister, Kate hugged her and said, "I'm happy to see you, sis. How was your night last night?" Mischievousness lingered in her last sentence as she wiggled her eyebrows.

"W-what nonsense are you spouting? You seem to be doing well with your headsets and whatever. What are you doing exactly?"

"Nothing much just updated my novel. Anyway, who is the kid?" She questioned, looking at Isabella.

With a tender smile, Mia replied, "Well, she is your new niece. Her name is Isabella." Looking at Isabella, Mia continued, "Isabella, meet your Little Aunty, Kate."

"Nice to meet you, Kate. I'm Isabella."

"Sup kiddo, what are you doing here with these oldies? Let's go and do something more fun upstairs. What do you say?"

Looking at Mia, Isabella waited to see an affirmative nod from her before she got up, "Okay!" Then she left with Kate.

Seeing that Isabella had finally gone, Alice could now say what she had on her mind, "So, did you two do anything last night?"

Realizing what her mom meant, Mia blushed, "No, we didn't do anything last night, ma."

"Are you sure, or are you just saying it for me not to talk?"

"No, Ma, nothing happened. He said that this isn't the right time and that he is busy. I also think we need to settle down first before you know..."

"Good, I guess that's one of the things I've gotten to like about Eden. He is a responsible young man. Then again, I'm still worried if you have asked him yet."

Creasing her eyebrows in confusion, Mia asked, "Ask him what exactly?"

"Don't ask as if you don't know what I mean. Or are you telling me you haven't asked about who Isabella's real mother is?"
