WHITE LIE

<"HOW COULD you say that? The royal knights belong to Empress Veronica. An insult to the royal knights is an insult to Her Majesty–">

Veronica flinched after listening to the recording device that Emperor Rino played after summoning her to the throne room.

She was seething inside because of Helena's incompetency.

However, she maintained a calm demeanor in front of the emperor.

[If I showed any sign of weakness, His Majesty will devour me alive.]

"Your Majesty, the servants' opinion has nothing to do with me," Veronica argued, her voice was firm yet polite. "I never claimed that the royal knights belong to me. It was Helena's sole opinion, so why do I have to take responsibility for it?"

To be honest, she told Helena to put Runa Viotto in place.

She didn't hate Isaak. In fact, she was fond of her brother-in-law. However, her feelings changed when Isaak married Zoanne Rochester.

[I hate that arrogant woman.]
