TABITHA AND LIANE (3)

"YOUR MAJESTY, I know that Lady Ava– the former royal princess– is a good doctor," Tabitha said carefully. "But she's not the royal physician, is she?"

Something was definitely wrong.

After all, why wouldn't the empress trust the royal physician?

"I can't trust the royal physician and anyone in the palace at the moment, Lady Tabitha," Empress Liane said seriously. "I feel like they've all been replaced by people who look like them."

She knitted her eyebrows, confused by what the empress meant by that.

It looked like Her Majesty understood her confusion because she offered an explanation right away.

"Lady Tabitha, do you remember when I said I can see the color of your soul?"

"I do, Your Majesty."
