A Noble Daughter's Reprisal

Once Eva got the crying Lyra to calm down she was able to put together the facts. Apparently, Lyra had swiped the request from the back office before it was officially ranked. Since it was on the important quest pile she was sure that it would earn Eva merits.

After Eva left to embark on the quest, she learned that an emergency regarding the request had happened causing the issuing town to be evacuated, including the guild.

Lyra then spent the next several days in a panic about whether or not Eva would survive the quest. So when she had heard that Eva had returned to her inn the night before and had sequestered herself to her room, she had sent an urgent meeting request to check on her.

Eva patted the young receptionist's head until she calmed down. The details about the quest now made sense to her and now felt guilty that she had proceeded with the request instead of turning around and requesting more information.
