The Morning After, Part Two

The madness was slowly taking over his mind. He wanted to force her to recognize her feelings for him. He wanted to force her to choose him. To rely on him. Why was that concept so hard for her to understand?

"Eva? Tell me what I was supposed to do? You say that you love me. Then you tell me it will never work. What was I supposed to do when I saw you smiling at a man like that? When I find you so easily being led away?"

He was letting his true feelings come out in his voice. The coldness of his voice was almost cutting as he watched her eyes fill with tears. Sadness threatened to take over her face, but there was that other emotion as well. Regret. Why did she have that emotion on her face?

Eva watched the warm blue eyes turn even paler than before. She was hurting him again. No matter what she did, she always hurt him.

"This is why we were supposed to go separate ways. You were supposed to forget about me and live out your life!"
