Realizations Often Come Later

After eating dinner with Leyla, Eva felt that she was thinking too much about Lucas' gift. Leyla was right, she didn't have a lot of funds right now and refusing something that would make her life much easier was for when she could afford to say no.

So, Leyla followed her to her inn and she tearfully packed up all her things and said goodbye to the owner and her daughter. The owner pulled out a handkerchief and dabbed at her eyes before waving goodbye as Leyla and her walked away.

"They seemed like good people."

"Yes, The first kind people I met when I came to the Capital."

They arrived back at Lucas' place. Well now it was her place. It felt strange having a place to return to that was hers. Maybe it was because Lucas had lived here, but it felt cozy and warm.

"Wow, this is better than where I stay."
