Eva felt a cold shiver go down her back. Griffins were terrifying monsters that were extremely territorial. Most people would never see them in their life because they liked to live in secluded high places. It suddenly dawned on her they had come to a really dangerous place.
"Sir?" Lee came up next to them.
"I know."
Lucas clenched his teeth. Eva stared at them, as they seemed to have some kind of silent communication. She felt jealous that Lee knew Lucas well enough that they could do this. At the end of their silent conversation, Lucas sighed. She thought she felt him pull her tighter against him as well.
They waited, staring at the sky, before moving again. It was dark now and there were no signs that they would stop to make camp. Was it unsafe because of the griffins? She pulled on Lucas' sleeve briefly to get his attention. He looked down at her and shook his head. It must be too dangerous to speak then.
