Though Flare did not know how to react, Yao Xinyu was different.

She looked at him and smiled as she casually said, "You are back?"

Though the words were simple, somehow they caused a weird sensation to his ears.

He did not notice the drop of sweat that slowly crept at the back of her neck.

She had practiced this line so many times to sound casual. She doesn't want the kit to feel that she has been worried about him. Such feelings would only act as a burden to the kids and she was not a mother who wanted to add any sort of burden on her kid's shoulders.

Hence she stood in front of the mirror and practiced so many times about how she would greet Flare as soon as he returned so that her worries wouldn't show on her face.

Instead she wanted to only show him her warm welcome from his warm mother.

Though she was a bit stiff in doing so, she succeeded in giving Flare the warmth that he badly needed.
