¬ HILN

Convincing Saffire otherwise had been difficult, but it was growing increasingly easy to navigate how her mind worked, along with the others to the point that I worried I might be able to manipulate them into doing something.

I didn't want this much control over people I was close to.

But I would never let that happen.

The voyage was long and unlike May and Saffire, Becca had been busy sorting through our belongings and helping me pack. She wouldn't accept otherwise and that since she was now my servant, even though just in name, it would still satisfy her to help me in that regard.

Becca joined May in her deep slumber and before long, Saffire's attention had shifted from the book she was reading back to me. Her eyes were serious as she stared at me.

"What is bothering yer?" she softly asked.

I stilled, and then relaxed, mixed feelings brewing within me as I turned my eyes away from her, not really sure of what to say.
