Okay, for once I was genuinely baffled. Why did you continue to read this story? DId you, by chance, not the get metaphor of the last chapter? Ya know, dropping my kid off to his "mom"─another me, but with a wig...
With the whole theme of dropped novels taking their revenge I thought it'd be easy to count 1 and one together.
Well, since you were still reading this novel, let me explain it to you one last time. For old time's sake, I suppose. What kind of writer would I be if I did not treat the few souls that come this far to some degree of hospitality.
Especially, after they put up with so many insults of mine.
The idea was very simple, despite going through all of the chaos and nonsense, the author would turn around to commit the same mistake again. It Just seemed like a befitting ending to a parody novel.
In the end, nothing would have changed because no lesson was learned....the perfect ending to a novel that poked fun at the status quo. I wanted to equally disappoint my audience as much as the average quality of writing disappointed me whenever I read on this site.
No, "they lived happily ever after" could ever capture my feelings properly. Only by making sure that there was no moral or deep lesson to this story was it possible for others to understand.
Don't misunderstand everything up to this point was supposed to be a fun read and entertain others. Never should it have been hard to digest, rather was it supposed to highlight the issues some novels on WN had.
No one should be taking this stuff to heart. Given the 84 collections, the chances were pretty low that anyone would even do that.
The whole story was just all about poking fun at the recent trends and at people constantly inserting themselves into the story. In general, there were way too many things to count, which were worthy of being ranted about.
But, that was just the premise of this story─ nothing more and nothing less than that. Just a random bloke ranting about the quality of writing on WN.
That was all there was to it. There were no big reveals, no hidden agendas or secret messages.
I never thought the novel would become famous or be read by many fellas. I was happy enough to simply address this topic and exaggerate as much as humanly possible. Ya. know, nobody would read about a scientific paper on why system novels were the primary tool to convey wish-fulfilment.
I never wanted to watch the world burn nor insult anyone out there, although some bloody idiots out there truly deserved it. Neither was I telling you guys how to live your life; you only have one─make it count.
There were some nuggets of wisdom here and there. Somewhere hidden deep beneath the sarcasm and the irony a few life lessons were waiting for the attentive readers.
As long as one did not mindlessly consume the story, they should be easy to spot. Just look at the neon sign that said " Free advice below" and you were good to go.
Just kidding, simply avoid doing whatever the involved characters had done and you would be able to avoid much trouble. At times it was not about the things you did, but the things that you did not do.
And not pulling any stupid stunts was a good way to increase your lifespan by more than a few years.
Though the truth was everything had been rigged from the start.
Everyone in this story was a paid actor and the system was just an AI programmed to act the part of a rogue System. No System would ever seek revenge on an author. Nope, the script-writers simply thought this was a good way to introduce a self-insert into the story.
It also served as a good move to introduce the readers to my other story. All the things you saw here were just the result of some monkeys sitting on a typewriter and producing a script to follow. The epic attacks? Those were the result of our special effect crew.
Take a guess why it was so easy to implement all the suggestions from the audience?
Exactly, this entire thing was planned out and could be changed on a whim. The magic of the story was now gone, but that was more than okay to me. After all, you have already read 81 chapters of this "magical" journey, there was no need to pretend any longer.
Btw the whole more than 100 collections bit was merely a joke. Nobody should decide the fate of their story based on such a number. Regardless, of whether or not the 3 digits were reached; ain't nobody was paying me money.
And, after all, we knew that the only metric to determine the quality of a story lay in its ability to get people to throw money at it.
This was meant figuratively; you could stop throwing your money at the screen now.
I appreciate the concern, but none of those would ever reach me. Since money could not transverse through space and land in front of my monitor. It'd be great if it could, but there were some easier ways to avoid taxes...
For legal reasons, that was a joke.
Anyhow, this marked the end of our little tour behind the scenes of the "System for Dummies" I sure hope that you got a bit of insight into the secrets of writing a less than successful story.
At the very least, you could call yourself one of the 84 readers with the best taste on this whole site.
Whether or not having a good taste on the WN site was a gift or a curse was up for debate. The answer mainly depended on how masochistic one truly was. Because reading stories on WN truly could be a pain at times.
Of course, this did not apply to your favourite story here on WN. That story, yes I have read it as well; truly a masterpiece of modern writing with so many words.
I was not lying here, I was merely telling you guys what you wanted to hear.
However, there should not be any questions left answered. If not just use the comment section and ask ahead; I was sure at this point in time it would not come back to bite me in the butt.
No, this was not a challenge to achieve the result mentioned above.
Since I just knew that something stupid would come inadvertently, let us hope that it would be a good one.
See you guys, hopefully the chapter was to your liking!!!
