His intention was to comfort Hannah by laughing at his own shortcomings, but gradually he noticed that the look in her eyes seemed a bit too... fiery?

She cradled her head, her eyes falling on Hayes' face. The indoor light poured from above into those deep brown eyes, shimmering with reflected light.
Hayes inhaled sharply, hurriedly looking elsewhere, his ears burning, "What's so great?"
Hannah sighed, "They could actually compliment me with 'you have nothing but a beautiful face.' This is essentially the highest praise for one's beauty."
Hayes widened his eyes, wondering if he had misheard.
In the next moment, he heard Hannah add, "Why doesn't anyone compliment me like that?"
