Burning bridges should never be an option but the last left retort.

Knowing that Li Teng only had good intentions in his heart, Yun Meiyi didn't want to get angry at him like that. But for some reason, she couldn't control herself. 

She felt the wave of anger surge in her. And she blurted out, "He is not a stranger. He is the man I am going to marry." 

Maybe it was her fear. She couldn't think. It was maybe because she feared Li Teng would come to know about him, and would get into the trouble. 

Yun Meiyi might not know much but as far as she has learned from her life, books, and experiences, not every secret is profitable to be revealed. Some even bring scary consequences.

And she doesn't want that scary thing to come in the life of her dear ones. 

Or maybe, she was just scared for him. Scared that his identity would get revealed, bring trouble for him.
