Aurora’s Death

She treaded through the ice, and brutally killed the Nagas one by one, along with the trees that were either less lampads or lesser plant nymphs. Her sadistic desires had run dry by the time she had finished off the last one.

Standing in front of the corpses of three Nagas, she stared at them. Their limbs had been severed, their organs had been sliced, some had been ripped out, and they were lying next to the corpse. Their skin was pale white, while their faces showed the brutality of their deaths with a terrified expression.

'That might've been a bit too brutal... but at least I got rid of my sadistic desires.' She turned away. She couldn't stand seeing the brutality of the corpses any longer, and opened her status.

Soon, she reached the surface and continued treading further into the swamp.

She had arrived at another island after moving across the murky wetlands for hours. The island was large, much larger than the one before.

She strolled across the murky, muddy beach that went until the point where the tree line started. There wasn't anything notable about the beach, so she hastily left the beach and passed the tree line.

She treaded carefully between the trees, making sure she wasn't anywhere close to the trees. The trees on the land couldn't attack from a long distance, but when a human or monster got too close, they'd spread poisonous vines around them and trap their prey. Once the prey was paralyzed due to the poison, they revealed their true selves and opened their woody mouths to devour their prey.

*Pffft!

A vine pierced her chest, followed by another vine piercing her head. Aurora was killed without getting the chance to even react. It was too fast for her to react, as her danger sense couldn't sense it.

"Haah!" Aurora jumped in surprise. Her eyes widened slightly. She had just seen herself die.

She instinctively bent her body forward, avoiding the two vines that had pierced her chest and head before. Slamming her palms into the ground, freezing the entire place over.

* Shriek!!

The trees cried out in pain as they were sliced into bits and pieces by the ice blades that erupted from the ice covering them.

'I shouldn't have underestimated them, and if I hadn't gotten that precognition beforehand, I would've died without even having the ability to fight back.' She thought, feeling the sense of fear in her heart for the first time.

After dispelling the ice, she searched for any mana stones within the pile of wood leftover from the trees. They were monsters who used mana, so naturally they should have had mana stones.

She had collected twenty out of the twenty-three dead trees—this put a small smile on her face, which turned into a frown when she realized something.

How did she receive the precognition when her future sight is an active skill? She didn't activate the skill, so how could she have seen the future?

She opened up her system, and a notification popped up, giving her the information she was asking for.
