Not Normal

She saw a hundred bodies of goblins, ogres, and ogre lords—through their chests a large ice spike protruded out. Blood flowed down the spike, draining the murky grass with a crimson hue.

Glancing at the numbers of those who were left, she found only six others. All five ogres survived, along with two ogre lords. Two ogre lords and two onis were injured, with blood flowing from their wounds.

"Too bad it only wounded them! It'd be nice if it finished all of you off!" A voice came from behind Rin.

Boom!

An explosion of fire occurred behind Rin.

'I missed?'

A frown formed on her face. By her conclusion, the enemy should have been disintegrated into specks of ash, but her attack missed—her opponent somehow escaped the attack even after she gave them no time to react.

Thud!

Thud! Thud!

The two ogre lords and one oni dropped dead with their hearts pierced from the back.

A neon blue light glimmered out of nowhere as a blizzard began to pick up, freezing the surrounding area.

Their vision became obscured to the point where they couldn't see past a foot in front of them. Seeing the disadvantageous situation, Rin sighed.

'Everyone... run, we've lost too many soldiers. And at this point, we'll die.' Rin communicated through telepathy, using her mana in her words to persuade the others.

'If we return to the city... we'll be killed for our failure in completing the order. I'd fight and die trying, where I least have a chance at survival.' An Oni answered, fear in his tone.

"Yeah."

"I agree. I'd rather die here than at the hands of the devilish queen."

By now, all the Oni's besides Rin came to a common consensus—they were willing to fight

back and die rather than flee to later die at the hands of the devilish queen.

Thud! Another oni fell, leaving three left.

'I have no choice but to charm the two other oni. They don't understand the queen as well as I do, so naturally they'd think wrongly of her.' Her eyes flashed pink as the eyes of the two oni looked at her. They were charmed.

A frown formed on Rin's face. She had noticed something odd—her charm spell didn't work the same as it did before.

'This spell seemed stronger than what it should be.'

Not sure what it was, she cast dispel. The scenery that once was a chaotic, cold blizzard returned to how it was before, with the sun rising into the sky in the distance.

'An illusion? I was caught in an illusion. I should have resistance to them.' Rin thought, looking around. She found only one Oni left, who wore a white kimono with gray hair and a nicely trimmed beard. 'That doesn't matter now; we need to escape.'

"Miss, Rin. I'll hold the enemy off to ensure your escape." The last one said, clutching a wound on his chest.

"No, we both will—"

"I can't. My heart has been pierced through. There's no way I'll survive. It is best to let you escape so you can report to our highness." The oni coughed up blood.

"Thank you and... I'm sorry." Rin ran off in the direction of the city.

'Now that she has escaped, my mission has been completed.' He sighed. "Show yourself, you can at least give this old man a good fight, right?"

A woman's figure flickered as she turned more visible. She had black hair, azure eyes, a nice curvy figure, and a large chest. She held what was left of her left arm.

"Thanks for letting her escape. You could've possibly won if you hadn't." A beautiful voice came from the woman's mouth. She had a faint look of relief on her face.

"Don't be arrogant; I may be old, but I still have the ability to fight." The Oni said, a look of pride on his face.

"You... Sure?"

Boom!

She appeared behind him, her fist shoved inside his chest, where she shattered his heart.

He coughed out blood as his face turned paler.

"I'll… at least inflict a wound on you before I die." Fiery mana exploded out from behind.

As the fire was about to hit Aurora, she disappeared. In the next moment, she appeared before the oni, slashing a sword-like icicle.

"Sorry, that won't work a second time."

The icicle sliced straight through the oni's neck with very little resistance, cleaving it off within seconds before hitting the ground with a thud as it rolled until it stopped, facing her.

'That makes me feel very uncomfortable.' The expression on his face creeped her out. He had white eyes with a shocked look.

As she placed her foot on the ground, an ice spike shot out and ripped the head apart.

'Much better.' She sighed, glancing up at her status screen.
