The Heartbeat and Another One?

Staring at the divinely handsome being in front of them, their minds ran circles at what he might be, he had the actual wings of a bird, so he might actually be more of a sparrow-man than their own sparrowmen that had dragonfly wings.

"The important question is, is he even okay?" Asked Fawn gently as she flew close to the male fairy or in their definition a sparrowman.

"Oh, dear! You are right!" Iridessa gasped along with the rest of the girls and flew fast towards him, the girls too did the same and flew around him to see for any broken bones, bruises, or any form of visible injury.

So they stood a little far away from him, even if there were strange tugs in their hearts to get closer because first, they had to be sure he was alright, then they can let their feelings of curiosity run free. And since there wasn't any healing or nursing talent among them, they all looked towards Fawn who a least had some knowledge on what to do.

Fawn saw the looks on her friends and understood them and huffed as she pushed out her moderate chest proudly as she replied, "Fine, but don't expect much from me. We are lucky that I have been around a lot of healing talent fairies, mostly because I get injured a lot and know how they check up on injured and unconscious fairies."

She then flew towards him, landing near his chest she reached out her long delicate fingers and placed them on his neck, remembering the technique used by a few nursing talent fairies she had seen do it.

For a moment there was silence as Fawn frowned with concentration, this made the other fairies nervous even if they had never met him before. It was in their nature to be loving to other beings that is if they are not harmful to them in the first place of course.

Otherwise...

Soon enough Fawn's face turned to elation as she quickly dropped her head on his chest to find his heartbeat. And there it was: deep, slow, long, and powerful.

For a moment she felt as if she was next to a large bear during hibernation, but this was different, very different.

"Fawn?"

Like the sweet melody of his heart somehow drew her in making her want to listen to each thumb after a stillness between each beat, making her long to hear the next one.

"Fawn?"

It somehow, soothed her, not to mention his scent, it was slowly overwhelming the animal-talent fairy's gifted nose with his natural scent that she couldn't understand but liked so very much. She couldn't stop breathing it in with deep breaths, it was truly divine as it was getting her addicted slowly.

"Fawn!?" A loud shout along with a jerk on her shoulder made her snap out quickly as she turned around to gaze at her friends' confused, worried, and strange looks on their faces.

"Fawn? Are you okay?" Iridessa asked her friend, she and the rest saw her look elated and they knew that this sparrowman, or whatever he is, was alive.

But her look after that was bizarre, to say the least. They knew he was attractive but to make her look and behave like that just after she placed her head on his chest; smiling in a silly manner as she hugged him, rubbing his chest with her face, and sniffing him was just strange.

And strange often meant dangerous in her books.

'This sparrowman is very dangerous, dangerously attractive that is. I want to be scared, but maybe this once I... I would like this danger... Where did that thought even come from!?' Iridessa's mind continued its internal conflict as she looked at the sparrowman with a complicated look, but focused back on Fawn as she had recovered to answer their concerns.

"Oh! Sorry about that, he is fine. Just sleeping or may be unconscious." She said as she looked away with a red face, clearly to avoid revealing more.

Even then she refused to stand up as she had her hands subconsciously stroke the muscular arm of the sleeping sparrowman.

Her friends noticed this, looking at each other they didn't know what to say. But there was no denying the strange feeling in their chest at this.

"We noticed, but what we want to know is what were you doing snuggling him like that?" Inquired Tinker Bell as her blue eyes pierced at her friend who squirmed at the pressure and struggled to say something.

But just then.

"Oh? Snuggling you say, that is interesting." A female voice called out behind them all making them freeze.

"Well my dear darlings, what have we got here?" The voice of the intruder was sly and filled with sarcasm, but was very familiar to the five fairies who soon revealed the name of their intruder.

"Vidia!" They all shouted and turned to stare at the new arrival in shock.

"What are you doing here Vidia?" Said Tinker Bell defensively, as she and the rest of the girls stood before the fallen sparrowman as if to protect him even Fawn got up to join them, their entire defensive behavior happened without them realizing that they were doing it.

"Doesn't matter, now what is this that I heard about snuggling him? Hmm?" The new fairy said with sarcastic smirk as she folded her arm on her modest chest. She had fair skin, pink lips succulent that curled up with a sneer, long purple-black hair that was tied in a high ponytail, and grey eyes. She wore a dark purple vest with pink feathers, both dark purple pants, and ballet flats.

That and her wings seemed long and sharper than the rest and had a leaner and slimmer build compared to the rest of the fairies around her.

Clearly, this fairy was built for speed.

The purple fairy or now identified as Vidia continued to eye her fellow fairies intently with her grey eyes as she got curious about what they were hiding, and from the looks of things, it must be related to this 'Him' that Fawn was snuggling. But looking at the destruction of the place she was certain that it was something very interesting, not to mention that it seemed to be related to that bright flash as well and big crashing sound a while ago too.

"What are you talking about there is nothing here?!" Iridessa said with a forced smile as even she herself couldn't believe what she just said in her heart but still held on to the large strained smile strangely hoping Vidia would go away, but she and the rest knew that it was not working at all.

"You girls really think that no one was going to notice that big bright ball that fell from the sky as well that crash right, I mean hello?" She raised an eyebrow, clearly unamused as pointed at the mess around them as well as the trail that lead behind them.

"You girls are hiding something and I want to know what it is." Vidia's voice left no room to say otherwise as she demanded.

To be honest, with her speed she could have flown fast behind them and figured it out herself as none of them here could stop her with her speed, heck no one in Pixie Hollow could match her speed, for she was the best fast-flying talent fairy ever.

However, at this moment something told her that it would be best if she took things slow this night. Her haste might bring about trouble for her just like last time almost ruining the festival of bringing spring to the Mainland, and this time she decided to listen to her inner voices.

And so she did.

Her voice though made the 5 fairy friends look at each other for a moment, contemplating what to do. That and they felt strange that Vidia would arrive here first out of everyone, the tremor was not that loud to alert anyone, perhaps she was close by.

"Sigh, alright Vidia. But understand that what happened is nothing but strange and weird." Tinker Bell said, and the rest of the girls nodded.

Vidia just frowned a bit at this but said nothing waiting for her to continue.

They began to tell her, what happened and left her in a daze before she shook her head, "Wait, wait! Is this 'him' the one I heard Fawn was snuggling?" Inquired Vidia.

This made the Latina-looking animal fairy glow red at this but still refused to say anything as she turned her head.

"Yes, actually. And we wanted to know why too." Said Rosetta as she wondered in her mind how it must have felt like to hold him, as she gently bit her rosy lips.

"Why don't you show him to me first, then we can discover the mystery of why she did that." Vidia then waved her hand nonchalantly, he couldn't be that good-looking right. Being the best made her raise her standards and for years now there hasn't been any sparrowman that had captured her eyes yet.

The girls just looked at each other as they knew that Vidia was prideful, but thought it was best she saw him herself and not comment. So they stepped aside and let her come closer.

The moment Vidia saw him, her mouth hung open and her grey eyes went wide open in a daze, the other girls just smiled and giggled at this as they too knew that they were like that when they first laid eyes on him.

The sound of the laughter from the others broke her out of her daze, as she looked away with a blushing face, whether it was embarrassment or something else was unknown, even to herself.

"To think ah would live to see Vidia blush due to a handsome sparrowman. Though one has to admit, he has the charm above sparrowman." Teased Rosetta as she looked at the face of the fast-flying talent fairy.

'Not that we are even sure if he even is a sparrowman. But he is a mighty fine specimen.' She added mentally as she bit her lips slightly again as there was a strange glow in her emerald eyes when she looked at him once more.

"Don't worry Vidia, we were just like you, even now we can't help but have the same reaction as you do now," Silvermist said gently with a serene smile as if she herself had given up on resisting and went with the flow.

Which she did.

As she instantly said that, without saying anything else she flew towards the head of the unconscious sparrowman as she gazed at his face for a moment as she landed gently making sure not to step on his hair. After that she gathered all the scattered hair slowly and calmly as she sat on her knees and then lifted his head with such care and gentleness as if she was handling with most delicate dewdrop and placed it on her lap then proceeded to stroke his hair with an expression full of bliss as she ignored the rest of the group.

"..." The rest looked at her in amazement that she would even do something like that out of the blue completely at peace with her work as if she had done it a hundred times before.

Fawn for some reason nodded her head at all this, and for some reason had an urge to utter a simple sound to complete what she felt when she saw Silvermist's actions.

'Umu!'

But for some reason, she couldn't pronounce the sound, as if it was a high-level form of speech.

She quickly threw away such thoughts and flew towards his right arm and gently traced and caressed his muscular arm and would poke it from time to time also without a word.

"What has gotten into them?" Asked Vidia in confusion as she continued, "Silvermist, I understand as no one has ever understood how that fairy's head works. But Fawn? Is this the result of the snuggle?"

This made the rest think deeply too, until Rosetta spoke up, "Well there is no harm in this right? Besides, it looks interesting to try so why not." Then she joined them for she had been longing to get up close and personal with this hunk!

Tinker Bell also followed her, there were few sparrowmen she had come into contact with since her arrival to Pixie Hollow, and this one intrigued her greatly and made her tinker sense tingle if that made sense.

Iridessa was a little hesitant, but since there was no harm it had to be safe. Even if he did give her vibes of a deadly being that would eat her up once he awakens, for some reason she didn't feel like she was going to hate that.

'Aghh! What is that kind of thinking!?' She berated herself as she closed her eyes and shook her head to clear it, this sparrowman is making her all weird and stuff and he is not even awake!

Then her hands felt something warm, smooth, and comfortable, opening them she noticed that she had her hands on his leg. She wanted her body to scream, jump, freak up or just be still in fear.

But that didn't seem to happen. As she felt his warmth run up her arm, all she felt was; safe and yet also betrayed by her own body. She couldn't help but sigh in her heart.

'Just what are you and why do you make me feel this way?'
