Kudu, although he hadn't gleaned useful information from Samiyi, nevertheless reaped some benefit from the encounter. At the minimum, he deduced that the princess harbored significant ambitions of her own. Busodi aspired to be King, but it was by no means certain that Samiyi would cede this opportunity to Busodi.
With this in mind, Kudu quickened his pace; he needed to relay this crucial information to Prince Busodi. He must alert him to prepare sooner rather than later and not to expend too much effort on contending with Prince Laka but rather to focus on confronting Princess Samiyi.
Within the palace, Laka was still enveloped in anxious thoughts. "Mr. Kudu is very smart. Has he already sensed something amiss?"
"He's bound to realize that there's an issue," Samiyi calmly stated. "Even without assigning someone to watch him, I know where he has gone now."
Laka asked, "Where has he gone?"
Samiyi laughed, "Of course, to report to his master."
