With Tan Rou by her side, Samiyi felt much more at ease. She patted her chest and said, "If it hadn't been for you here, I think I would have fainted from fear."
Tan Rou asked, "Are you afraid of ghosts?"
Having nothing else to do, Samiyi started sharing some childhood stories with Tan Rou.
"My mother passed away shortly after I was born, and I was always cared for by a nanny," Samiyi said. "The nanny was a believer in spirits. Whenever I cried, she would scare me by saying that if I cried again, ghosts would come at night and kidnap me. That's why I was always very afraid of the dark and ghosts."
Tan Rou was somewhat puzzled, "Your nanny actually dared to say such things to you, did she no longer want her job?"
