Chapter 12 The man with the blue eye
Elaine heard a huge bang, so she open her eyes and saw that she is inside a car. At this moment Elaine knew she is dreaming since this is her nightmare and she can't force herself to wake up. Elaine's stomach starting to ache from panic as she know what will happen next.
Elain close her eyes as the car crashed from something, she only can feel that someone protected her from the impact. Elaine flinch as she start to hear two people crying in pain, then suddenly she felt a two big hands wrapped around her. Elaine still in panic and scared even though she know that this will always happen, she open her eyes and saw a silhouette of a buff man reaching for her but she only can see clearly is his big intimidating blue eyes. Looking from the big guy with big blue eyes gives Elaine the chills through her body.
Elaine tried her best to shake off from the grasp of the man's arm but she can't move her body even an inch. Elaine cries harder.
The minute she open her eyes she saw a guy in front of her with clear blue eyes.. "NOOO, HELP ME BROTHER!!" Elaine scream and cry so hard but the guy hug her instead. "Elaine, it's me Ethan.. Calm down" Ethan said while rubbing his hand to Elaine's back. Elaine cried and grabbed Ethan's shirt tightly, she cried for over 30 minutes. When Ethan think she calms down, she reach a glass of water to give it to her.
"Did you see him again? The man with the blue eye?" Ethan asked. Elain look so frustrated as she don't know what to do, whenever she had a nightmare, it's always that scenario. She tried many things but the nightmare is always keep showing up to her dream.
"I don't want to sleep anymore, but my head.. It's hurting" Elaine complain.
Ethan stand up and start to dial some number. "It's time to talk to Mom" . Elaine tug his shirt "No, I am fine… I just got a nightmare" Elaine said. Ethan stop dialing his mother's number and look to Elaine in disbelief.
"It's time to go home, It's been two months since were living in this condo unit. Don't you think it's time to talk to mom what happen back there? And also this push me to the idea of going back since your nightmares are so frequent" Ethan suggested and sit to Elain's bed.
"Elaine, we can't do this without mom especially your situation!" Ethan trying to convince her.
"But whenever Mom helps me, I always ending up with a doctor doing psychodynamic psychotherapy"
"Because that thing can help you, it's for your own good!" Ethan left on Elain's bed and contact their Mom immediately. He hurried and open Elaine's closets and start to pack her things. Then suddenly Ethan stop and look to Elaine "I know I am a great Brother and all, but get your ass over here and help me you fucker" Ethan jokes around to make the atmosphere lighter. Elaine chuckles "Geez, I just woke up in a nightmare you know?" Elaine stand up and help Ethan packing her things.
"Oh! By the way. It was only a week before your birthday" Elaine look to Ethan. Ethan keeps packing her things as if he didn't hear anything from Elaine.
"Oh come on! I know you don't like to celebrate your birthday but at least just a simple birthday with our friends and family?" Elaine lean her head to Ethan's back then rub her head like a cat. "I am going somewhere alone on my birthday" Ethan ignore Elaine's cute act.
"You curious cat! You're going to investigate mother and that guy in your birthday?!" Elaine jump to Ethan pinching his both cheeks.
"I am not!, I am going to visit someone" Ethan said then flick Elaine's forehead. Elaine suddenly stop in shock as she heard wat he says.
"No.. But you like Luna!" Elaine stated. Ethan suddenly blush in embarrassment and look to her sister angerly "What does Luna connect to where I visit?!" Ethan complains. "It's the usual thing I did on my birthday. The thing why Mom always brings you to our grandparents instead, so don't come just like always" Ethan added. Elaine sit beside him "Brother.. Why do you always visit that person every birthday you had? You won't even invite them! It's unfair since Mom and you only knows that person you know?" Elaine said.
"First of all, I can't invite them… Well.... that would be scary if that happens.. And I kind of feel responsible to them so I need to visit them" Ethan said. Elaine was so intrigue and gasp "So your saying you feel responsible for them because you made a girl got pregnant and you can't invite them because your feel sorry for our Mom?!.. I never knew that your like that brother" Elain looks so disappointed. Ethan look so annoyed and pinch Elaine's cheek extra hard.
"HEY IT HUUURTS! IT HURTSS!" Elaine shouted and tap his brother's shoulder to stop. Ethan stop and sigh. "Okay! I was just joking! Dude it hurts!" Elaine complain while touching her swollen cheek.
They both decided not to go to school and simply pack their things. After 3 hours someone rings their doorbell and They saw a man wearing a Butler attire and it is the Smith Family's head Butler named Charles. "It's been a month Young master, Lady Elaine" Charles greeted them and they all decided to continue the talk to their house.
Going inside their house, they both saw Jae and Luna talking to her mother. "Come on Auntie! Let me stay here for a while" Jae said while whining to Ethan's mother. Elaine stomp her way towards Jae and pinch his nose "After staying at Luna's house, are you saying that it's time to pest us now?" Elaine said in annoyed expression. Ellie sigh "Its fine to stay here, but my advice is you need to talk to Kumiko.. Your mother is worried for you" she said.
Elaine, Ethan suddenly glance at their mother, Ellie unexpectedly glance to them. They feel awkward since they too have some family problem. Ethan sigh and kisses their mother on the cheek as a greetings "Were.. Home" he said then Elaine follows to greet her too. Ethan clears his throat and look to Jae. "Since you will be staying here, you can stay at my room" Ethan looks to Elaine, Elaine nods and grabs Jae away then Luna followed them. Ethan and Ellie remain at the Sala looking so awkward.
"Elaine, you sure it's okay to leave your brother there? Looks like you three really have a big issue. Is it a bad timing?" She asked Elaine. Elaine open his brothers Room and went inside his room, Jae and Luna walk inside too then look inside Ethan's room. Elaine sits on the bed "we.. Really have something we need to clarify. " Elaine said with her sad expression. Luna went beside her with Jae, saying they are ready to listen if she wanted to share it.
"we… think…. Our mother is ready to fall in love again.." Elaine started. Luna and Jae was speechless, not because they were shock to the news but they don't have anything to say for Elaine.
"Elaine, maybe it's time to let Aunty love another man? I mean it's been 5 years and I am sure that she doesn't only love another guy just to replace your Father, Aunty has the reason why he really fall for that guy" Luna said explaining her side. Jae scratch his head and looks so guilty "Well, Ethan told me that before.. I feel ashamed I haven't even help because I never had a father at the first place.." He said honestly.
"I know that you guys too have loss a father, but you have still Aunty Ellie to lean on. I think It's time to support her don't you think? Aunty loss a Husband too and now she needs to take care her two lovely children on her own." Luna holds Elaine's hand.
"I can feel that Aunty Ellie loves Uncle Edward, But moving on doesn't mean you will feel less love to that person. I think Aunty Ellie loves the guy in the guy's own way not for reminding her your father. Elaine, Aunty Ellie have a lot to shoulder when uncle died and since then she really pushes her limits. If Aunty Ellie really do love the guy, try to understand them and get to know more that guy. Then judge him if he really deserved your mother's love" Luna trying her best to say her Advice and opinion.
Elaine stand "I am still not convince but, Since Father died Mom didn't wish for anything, she didn't even complain how hard to be a Widow. So.. I'll try" Elaine said, Jae and Luna nod as a respect for her decision then watch Elaine as she leave the room. On Elaine's part, she is decided to what she is about to say so she went to the Sala. As she gets closer and closer, she gradually hear her mother's cry.
"And also…I talk to Elaine's doctor. He said that her nightmare will still continue if we didn't tell the truth since her nightmare is connected on what happen on that accident" Elaine heard her Mom saying things that she didn't know. She decided to hide for a mean time and collect some more information since she is a bit upset that they all keep a secret to her.
"But Mom…will she be ready?, I am just concern what will she feel about telling it to her" Ethan said.
"There's nothing will change even though we said it to her, we're still her family" Ellie said.
At this point Elaine has the idea on what they were talking about. She bitterly smile as her chest tightens. What she feel at this moment was not anger to her family but she hate herself and felt embarrassed, She think herself stupid.
For all those times I keep hanging on the Idea.. I kept denying it because I trust them. How can I be so stupid? It's shows the difference between me and my family. Elaine said to herself.
Elaine rush to their storage room where her Father's things we're stored. She open the dusty door and slowly close the door. She sits for a moment and cry as she has a lot of question on her mind but she is afraid to asked them because they might lie to her again. Her trust to her family is full of doubt so she choose to find truth for herself.
