102-This can't happen!

Ashely

"Calm down. " I overheard Elena's voice as I held a pillow to my face once more. Emily left the house after hearing some news and she didn't even tell my older sister. It was several hours in the early Saturday when Elena turned on the radio and the first news to be delivered was that of a home that was gutted by fire with the residents in it and the moment I heard her family's name and the location, which confirmed it. I continued crying.

"It's all my fault. " I struggled to speak.

"No, it's not," Elena told me.

"Her family is dead and I can't do anything about it. " I sniffed.

Elena touched my back and patted it carefully.

"I should call her, shouldn't I?" I lifted my head. I watched as Elena shook her head in rebuffal.

"Give her space. " she advised. I tried to breathe in but it was shallow.

After a couple of minutes, Elena asked, "What happened?"

I sucked in a breath as my body began to turn warm.
