Save Him

"Who are those men and why are they coming again and again?" Ophelia had thought that after coming this far, they would live a peaceful life for a while before starting war against their parents' killers.

But since the day they have come here, peace was nowhere to be found thanks to her money mindedness. She should have known when Oli brought so much money home.

"Do not tell me that you have robbed someone and they are coming to ask back for money." Ophelia glared at Olivia who was wet with sweat after having a morning training routine.

Olivia stretched her body and plopped on the bed and stared at the ceiling.

"They are men from knighthood. They wanted to appoint me with them." her words came out nonchalant as if it was not a big deal but that was enough for Ophelia to widen her eyes as she stood up and walked toward her sister.

"What did you say? Then why did you reject them? Weren't you waiting for the job of knight since we do not know any other thing to do?

I thought you would gladly accept it?" Olivia tilted her head and stared at her sister. She knew what Ophelia was thinking.

For the long run they need a job since they both were not good at working. Born with a dozen maids around them, Ophelia is hardly able to cook everything except sandwiches and soup while they both did not know how to clean clothes and do other tasks.

"They will come back, you do not need to worry. But they are too suspicious for me to join. I have other ways to make quick money. You do not need to worry about me." she assured the girl who sighed and went back to folding her clothes.

Just then they heard another knock at their door which surprised Ophelia who looked at her sister with anticipation but Olivia only stretched her body and rubbed herself on the bed like a small beast enjoying her rest time.

She yawned as she stood up and walked towards the door.

"Hello, I just came to greet the new neighbors. The house was empty for a few months. So, if you need any help in cleaning. Please tell me." the face of the girl flushed as she saw the flirtatious smile on the face of the young man.

He looked more handsome than she had heard. Alas the fine man was already taken!

"Ah, you must be Margret. I heard that you work as a seamstress. I would be glad if you stop by and spend some time with my wife while I go and bring some snacks for both of you.

What do you like to eat, Margret?" The girl's face turned red as Olivia leaned a bit and smiled warmly.

She tucked her hair behind her face and smiled.

"That.. you do not need to spend money. We will make something at home." spending too much after buying a home recently is impossible since they were commoners who did not have much income to begin with yet the man was looking oddly calm when it comes to spending unless her father who always scolds and shouts at them when it comes to money.

"You, do not have to worry about that. A pretty lady like you should only order without caring how others arrange for those things!" Olivia smiled as she left the space for her to enter and left for the market informing both of them that she would be back with a lot of food till they both arrange the house completely.

Olivia walked by the streets yawning a few times. She had a lazy expression on her face.

"I will have a chiffon cake and an apple pie. Thank you." walking to the nearest store that did not look very expensive, she gave orders and sat on the nearest seat.

It had only been a minute when she heard a few knights running and covering the streets and soon the loud announcement was made.

"The head of the knights, sir Alexander is coming for a round in this area. He will arrive here soon so everyone, maintain order and discipline." several gasps and screams could be heard all around that made her frown.

Didn't the man announce to maintain discipline "why is everyone shouting like crazy?"

"Oh, are you new to this place? You do not know? Sir Alex is the hero of the town. He is not less than a god of war, the slaughter hero. Every woman is crazy here to see him for once but most of the time his team maintains the order and he never makes a public appearance.

He is an existence no less than the crown prince. It's a one in a thousand chance that everyone would be able to see him even if it is from afar.

"Even if he is a war hero, what is so special about him?" she shook her head as she felt their reaction was exaggerated but the name! Alex! She had heard it somewhere before?

Was it the name of the man who had brought the letter yesterday too or was it the person whom she had robbed in the woods?

No matter who he was, it would be best that she would stay away from him.

She paid for her order and decided to leave from there silently. But she had only taken a few steps when she heard the sound of hooves.

They were already here. The men and women made two parallel lines on both sides to give them way while they looked at them with faces full of admiration.

She just thought that she would pass somehow but a kid bumped into her. Olivia who was still busy in making sure that her cake did not get ruined had not thought that the kid who was just bumped into her would be pushed and would end up in front of the horses that were coming with full speed.

"Please.. Save my son!"
