God Hates Her

They all exchanged glances as they nodded their heads. Their eyes vigilant, looking for every sound and their hands on their swords, ready to stab it in the heart of every passing person. They were surprised to see that the door was unguarded and it was not even locked.

"What if it is a trap?" asked Traven as he felt there was something amiss. Why would their security be so weak when they could already hear the sound of action.

Alex's face turned grave. He could hear the sound coming from inside and narrowed his eyes. He opened the door abruptly only to find a single woman in there. She was tied from ropes and thrown into the corner.

The sound of her sobs filled and muffled cries filled the room.

"There is only one woman? Didn't they say that there were a dozen women?" the girl whose head was hidden in the dark raised as she stared at the intruders.

But surprisingly she was looking more irritated than shocked or scared when Ethan frowned.

"You!" Alex walked forward and opened the ropes when he frowned. The ropes were too loose. If he did not know any better, he would have thought that she had bound herself.

She stared back at him with an awkward look as she nodded and took out the piece of cloth from her mouth.

"I.. I was at the inn when.. I heard someone died there so I ran away. But before I could run away, two men caught me and took me there! I.. they were telling me that they would earn good money by selling me. Are you one of them?" Alex, who was nodding his head in understanding, was taken aback by her last words and stared at her with furrowed brows.

Did he look like a man who sells women?

"Is that why you were forcing me to go with you to the inn?" she continued with more confidence when he did not reply to her.

"Pffft!!!!!!!!!!" Ethan, who was scanning the room for hidden dangers, laughed out loud when he heard the girl. He could not believe that his master convinced a woman to come with him so much that she felt he was forcing. Not only that but she even took him as a kidnapper.

He tilted his head and glared at Ethan who covered his mouth with both hands but was not able to stop his laughter.

"You are going to come back home on foot so that you can scan all the area closely and know where the other woman went!" all the laughter and amusement vanished from the eyes of Ethan who stared at his master with shock. Their house is so far that it would take him the whole day to reach there on foot.

But thinking that it could be necessary and he would not be able to know how much he had walked on food and how much he traveled in the horse cart, he nodded his head all but reluctantly.

"We need to take you away from here before they come. Though I am surprised that there is no one guarding you." he looked around, still confused. No matter how he looked at it, he felt that it was a trap.

Olivia pursued her lips. Of course, it was a trap but the one who set it was not them but her. She had taken the horse cart in her way when it was coming here as she asked for lift and then killed both of the guards and coachman.

Then Ophelia took the cart and took it to their home while she confirmed the address and came here. She was outnumbered and could not come into the eyes of the nobles who were there as clients. So, he acted as a victim and decided to stay here.

She was ready to kill anyone who would come to take her. She was sure they would continue to come until she killed all of them but who would have thought that this man would come in between.

Though she knew that he had good intentions, if he continued to come in between, he would soon realize that she was a shady woman. He might even notice her resemblance to Oliver.

Sigh! Just why were they crossing such a path so many times. No! Why in the world, god did not like her. Though she was a greedy woman but she was spending most of the money in finding the girls that were taken as slaves from her empire and were sold here.

And though she had killed a few men, she had done good deeds too. Sigh! She shook her head in defeat as she slumped back on the seat in defeat.

She did not know how to get rid of this man.

"Master, I think the lady is still scared. She had been kidnapped and locked in the dark room without food and water. She must have been beaten to keep silent too.

I am sure they would have even tried to molest her too. Look, her dress has blood stains. Was she injured badly? Oh my, no doubt that she was taken as a bad man since she had suffered so much and she was still in shock!"

"...." who! Her????? What in the world was he talking about? And from which part of her face did he feel that she had suffered too much. There was no way that a cold man like Alex would believe his words and care about her.

He was going to escort her to the door. At most, he would escort her to some inn nearby. Why was he trying to exaggerate her condition so much? But she stayed silent in case she would leak any information or her speech would connect her with Oliver. She closed her eyes and rubbed her forehead to think about her future plan when she heard another worried voice,

"You are right! Let's take her home then we would decide what do we need to do."
