"Wait! What do you mean by running away? I have been standing here all this while. Even if she would jump from the window of her room. She had to cross the main door to leave! But why would she be leaving?" wasn't she the girl they have saved?
He stared at the man whose eyes shone and he ran towards the building.
"Hey, what about me? Shouldn't you be telling me what had happened?" he asked as he ran behind Alex.
It took Alex only a few minutes before climbing the stairs and standing on the second floor.
"Tsk! Why are you running? Do you even know which room she is staying in?" Tavern shook his head and then took the initiative to show him the room.
Alex did not waste his time knocking on the door.
"Go and check the exit, make sure that no one leaves the inn, especially girls that are hidden in cloaks." Tavern could see the urgency in the voice of the man, so he nodded and jumped from there to reach the exit fast.
Once assured that she did not have any way to run away, he used the force of his body by knocking his whole body on the door. It took only two efforts to break the door.
He entered the room and scanned it. As he had expected, she was not there. Her cloak was used as rope and it tore down while she was trying to climb out of the window.
He used the same path and jumped down, hoping that she was still close by but he was wrong.
He checked the whole area and as Tavern had said, there was no exit but they had made sure that she could not leave by exit then where did she go?
His eyes scanned the area to see if she was hiding anywhere but there was not any place where she could hide so leisurely.
"Hey, I burnt the building after the costumes left and made sure that no one would be alive from there. But.. What is the situation here? Why are both of you looking so worried?" Ethan, who was riding his horse so far, jumped on the ground and placed his hands on the shoulders of Tavern who galred back at him but remained silent.
"Hey, you should be praising me, instead of glaring at me!" he pointed when Tavern sneered but looked away making Ethan grumble.
"Just because I am late does not mean that you will not tell me what is happening here? Do not forget that I am the vice captain of the team. And since the master did not like being called captain, soon I would take over that place too?" he grumbled but both men avoided him.
"Tavern, I want you to continue to guard the door. Ethan, go and search the whole area. See, if you can find the woman whom we have saved and I want her alive.
Chain her hands if she plays any funny joke. Now!" His voice was grim and the look on his face was so serious that Ethan opened his mouth to ask the reason but closed it and nodded his head.
Soon they were dispersed while Alex walked to the restaurant area where many were having food and drinks while talking leisurely.
He walked towards the bartender who was serving drinks and taking the order of food too.
"Have you seen a girl with dark hair in a cloak?" The man raised a brow and was about to chase Alex away when he noticed the uniform of a knight and stood straighter.
"Almost all of the women here wear weak cloaks as they are afraid of revealing their identities.
There are more than six girls with dark hair in the inn right now. If you want, I can give you a waiter to help you search the inn.`` Alex nodded as his eyes were already staring at each girl that could mate the description.
He could not believe that he had not seen the face of the woman whom he had met twice.
He walked closer and took a seat as he decided to check all of them for sometime when he noticed there was already someone sitting on the chair in front of him.
"Heyo master, I have never thought that men like you also like this kind of inn. I have thought that you are a picky eater who only eats at rick and luxurious places.'' The wide grin of the boy with green eyes liked him instantly.
He glared at Olive who was mocking him for being there.
"Oh! You do not have anything to eat? If you want, I can share my meal with you." like a cheshire cat, she chuckled and then passed the plate for him to pick a skewer and a glass of beer was soon placed in front of Alex.
"I have already had two glasses of beer, so you can have this one. Try the skewer, it would go perfectly but if you want to order anything else, then go ahead. The tab is on me." she replied grandeur as she dusted her shirt and smiled with a smug look on her face, instantly irritating Alex who was trying his best to avoid this foolish man.
"Why are you not leaving?" the low growl of Alex would have scared anyone but Olivia continued to sit there as if she did not hear him.
"Tsk! You should learn to be friendly with those who offer you food? What are you doing at such a place anyway? Chasing some criminals?" she scoffed but deep down her eyes settled on the face of Alex.
She wanted to know if the man had realized that she was the killer or he was still looking for her out of goodwill.. She felt bad for using hum but she did not have any other choice.
If he realized that she was the killer, he would grind her and then sell her bones in the slave market.
