"Husband?" his eyes narrowed at Amber and soon turned darker when she nodded her head enthusiastically.

"Yes, I know that you did not want to marry me, so I asked my imperial mother to talk to my father.

She would ask him to break the promise of our marriage and then I will marry Oliver. I do not want to bother you anymore?" bother, she said?

Her eyes looked serious and grim but Alex did not feel any better.

"You know that he is a commoner with no position in the empire right?" his voice became colder as he said so.
