Let Them Die

"We do not have time for others. Saving you is important, and I am not the one who found you," Amber paused, confused. She had expected Olivia to worry more about others, but her calm face was baffling. She followed the gaze of Oli, only to notice that a group of men was standing at the door. The one in front looked oddly familiar, though she was sure he was not a noble.

"I have seen him in the market and in the crowd," she whispered, not sure why Oli wanted to take her own sweet time to talk about something they did not know well.

"He saved you, Amber, because he is your grandfather," Oli patted the back of the girl as she stood up and walked toward the door. Soon, the old man entered, and following him was Layla, mother of Amber. Her red and swollen face was full of tears again. She ran and hugged her daughter as if she still couldn't believe Amber's presence.
